Screenshot of e-mail from CMS saying "CMS has decided to delay the requirement to transition all research studies into the CCW VRDC indefinitely."
CMS makes it official: no plans to cancel physical Medicare and Medicaid data access, forcing everyone to use the VRDC enclave. Instead, some more paperwork to make and extend DUAs β which is way better than what they were proposing!
Some people are asking what I want Schumer to do. He should be screaming over medical care and access to facilities. He should be going to detention facilities himself and putting his body on the line, as he did at the border in 2019. He should lean into stories about New Yorkers in detention. [1/4]
Kristi Noem and her departmentβs latest attempt to mislead the American public regarding the brutal and unjustified killing of Alex Pretti is deeply shameful, and she must be impeached and removed from office immediately.
Alex Pretti, wearing a green sweater with his VA badge on.
This is Alex Pretti.
This morning he was murdered by ICE. Six ICE agents held him down and shot him at point blank range. Alex was a nurse and researcher at the VA.
Our thoughts are with his loved ones and we stand united in action calling for the abolishment of ICE.
#ScientistsAgainstICE
Abolishing ICE is not nearly sufficient. State and local officials need to start arresting and prosecuting these kidnappers and murderers.
just to make that clear for the rest of the world, that's -9 degrees *fahrenheit.* -23 degrees *celsius*.
I can't believe this needs to be said... but ending universal polio vaccination isn't "freedom of choice" (as Milhoan puts it).
Making all vaccines optional takes *away* our liberty, by putting all of us -- esp. those who can't vaccinate -- at risk of getting sick with vaccine-preventable disease.
I know I keep posting about this but every time I check, the list gets longer and longer and longer. Hundreds and hundreds of places, everything from huge local institutions to small spots that will definitely struggle.
No exaggeration, it's the most astonishing act of solidarity I've ever seen.
US court allows ICE to arrest and pepper-spray peaceful protestors in Minnesota
Appeals Court Stays Restrictions on Federal Tactics in Minnesota The Eighth Circuit granted the Trump administrationβs request to block, at least for now, a lower courtβs injunction limiting how federal agents interact with protesters in the state.
One court decision, two different headlines.
Guardian on the left, NY Times on the right. Which one more directly conveys information and the stakes to the reader?
Call your reps. Let them know that if they vote for ICE funding, you will not vote for them ever again.
Representatives need to feel the heat. NO on ICE funding. No excuses.
This is sickeningly cruel and inhumane.
Iβll be surprised if itβs something besides βWe hope our republican colleagues will work with us, otherwise weβll be forced to write a strongly worded resolution opposing this.β
