I absolutely loved the movie but itโs a long drive to San Francisco and back.
Would have gone for a Turning Red discussion (did see the online one that they did).

Worth a try at least. ๐
That might be a good idea to go to bed earlyโฆ
Did anyone hear that British Columbia is moving to permanent daylight saving time starting tomorrow? #TOSSatNight
By Any Other Name is one of my favorite second season episodes, but I regret I need to miss the watch party tonight. Have to go pick up a family member at the airport who is returning from an overseas trip. #TOSSatNight
My best guess is a promotion for Fast & the Furious?
How was the play?
I love the movie, but I felt like I was spending too much money lately and decided to pass.
Also, have you heard about the new feature documentary Beam Me Up, Sulu?

Please tell me that the other Star Trek cast members you met were Brent Spiner and Michael Dornโฆ โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, big thunder Mountain RR, Tianaโs Bayou adventure, haunted mansion, Indiana Jones, and the Temple of forbidden eye, pirates of the Caribbean, Mr. Toadโs wild ride, Alice in Wonderland, storybook Canal boats, Star Tours, meet Darth Vader, Autopia, Disneyland Railroad, Snow Whiteโs enchanted wish, Pinocchioโs daring journey, Jungle Cruise, Adventureland treehouse, Rafts to Tom Sawyerโs Island, Millennium falcon smugglers run, Big thunder RR (#2), Mark Twain steamboat, Peter Panโs flight, King Arthur carousel, Buzz Lightyear Astro blaster, Star tours (#2), Disneyland Monorail, Finding Nemo submarine voyage, Enchanted tiki room.
All told, I got to ride/experience 29 attractions that day using no Lightning Lane or priority access. It was magnificent.
I told my daughter that night, it wasnโt a matter of what I did that day, but what I didnโt do (Rise of the Resistance, canoes, Small World closed). Didnโt go to ToonTown.
Was hoping to rent a battery charger to recharge my phone after leaving tomorrowland, but when I got to the frontierland pin store, I found out that it was $40 or $50 to buy a portable charger, and I already had two chargers on me (the magnetic one was dead) but no charging cable.
I got to use the secret restroom at the Enchanted Tiki Room but ended up missing the first three or four minutes of the show as the CM told me I could still get into the current show via the employee entrance (honestly, I wouldnโt have minded waiting for the next show).
The four kids in the family waiting behind me for Sub Voyages seemed like they had never been on the ride before, and it was really hard for me not to tell the annoying six year old boy next to me that the vehicles were not really submarines b/c they couldnโt go underwater or give away other facts.๐คญ

Was planning to give the Remy shoulder sitter and first mug to my daughter and keep the Starbucks Disneyland mug, but she preferred the Starbucks mug. I ended up returning the other two items at DCA two days later.
I also went to see the Enchanted Tiki Room, did some shopping for my daughter who was having boyfriend troubles, and caught bits of the nighttime projection show on my way out.
During the last two hours of abbreviated operating hours due to Sweethearts Night, I got rare rides on the Disneyland Monorail and then Finding Dory Submarine Voyage.

The front side of the Star Tours ride building lit up with purple and green neon lighting at nightttime.
I then walked over to Tomorrowland and got a ride on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (got a decent score) and a second ride on Star Tours for the day, with stops at Kashyyk and Coruscant.
The back of Sleeping Beauty Castle lit up with pink (above the ground floor) and yellow (at ground level) light around 5:30 pm. There are two cube-shaped topiary trees in the foreground, along with people walking.

Took some photos of the castle lit up at night.
Was disappointed the Sleeping Beauty walk-thru was closed at 5 pm (due to Sweethearts Night) with no signage that it was closing early, despite the park being open until 8 pm.
My phone was almost out of battery by this point (despite fully charging it once mid-day), so I took only a few more photos after this.
I apologize for the typos in this post.
I tried to fix them, but for some reason after I had written the other posts in the thread, the first post was locked and could not be edited for some reason. I also could not attach the photo to the first post.
And ever less b/c I was not sticking to his script and talking about things like Japanese American representation, how the movie was hopeful about the future for young people today, and that Mabel Tanaka is a hero for todayโs young generation. ๐
Even though the handler who was passing out and collecting the waiver forms said adults were welcome to record their reactions, I am pretty sure the guy asking the questions had already decided he was not going to use my answers even before I opened my mouth. ๐
โWhat are three words you would use to describe the movie?โ
โHow did you react when [funny scene happened]?โ
โWhat emoji symbols do you remember the beaver using?โ
โWhat moment surprised you the most?โ
โFill in the blank: This was the most [blank] Pixar movie.โ
Most of the people who recorded the reactions were kids, but the questions audience members were asked where things like:
I loved the representation of Japanese American characters and the hopefulness of the movie for the future and the message that young people can effect positive change, so I waited in a long line to record my thoughts.
The Disney Pixar publicity people encourage people in the audience at the hoppers screening at the El Capitan to stay after the movie to record their reactions to the movie for the social media campaign and โsizzle rolls.โ

While I was in Hollywood and parked next door to the Chinese Theatre, I took some photos of my favorite stars who have their shoes and hands inpressed in the cement there.
The movieโs protagonist, Mabel Tanaka, with vaguely Asian facial features, slightly unkempt hair, a dark gray jacket with a tag that says Tanaka, and a gray shirt.
A split screen with two animated beavers, standing in front of a river on the left illustration, and an Asian man with stylish hair who looks in his mid to late 30s in a blue collar shirt and white T-shirt on the right photograph.
Not having seen any trailers or publicity material for the movie, I was pleasantly surprised that the protagonist is a college-aged Japanese American woman.
I chose the go see the movie primarily on the resume of the director/writer Daniel Chong.

Went to see an early access showing of the new Pixar movie Hoppers at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.
It was an amazing, highly entertaining, and hopeful movie for todayโs young people.
The carousel is one of the few at theme parks or other locations Iโve been to (Griffith Park, Santa Monica Pier) where every horse or animal is a jumper (rides up and down instead of being stationary).
