I love it when the right teacher puts the right book in the hands of the right student.
Magic happens. π

They were very unlikely to have been in the know. I expect, and hope, that they were horrified.
So, he's managed to get part time work as maintenance at the school and the rest of the time is stay at home dad to their little girl.
Combined with the tropical climate, it's helped his spine, as they work through treatments. Last resort is surgery.
He's pretty active, but watches himself. 2/2
My son transitioned out of 'being on the tools' to the office as an estimator and supervisor. He then got accepted for Corrections as a guard. At the facility they discovered his background, so became a guard/handyman.
His wife is a child psychologist, and they got the chance to move to NT 1/2
I'm back at square 2 with my physio exercises for my shoulder.
Had a mammogram on Thursday. Contortion required (from my shoulder's POV) and I've been paying ever since.
So back we go several stages to get range of motion and pain under control.
Getting old sucks, but better than the alternative.
The most comfortable socks in the world in your photo. Love them! β₯
Last point you made : in bold, 80 point font.
Why they were faffing around between 2020 and 2024, I have no effing idea! They blew it.
It's a plan. And a good one. Almost 240 years of watching and listening, I reckon they've got some really good ideas.
Oh, agree 100%. Some of us are freeze rather than fight or flight.
But, if someone has a fall, and there's no blood guts and gore, most first aiders should be au fait with assisting. Even if it is just sitting with the patient until the professionals turn up.
In an earlier post here, I read that Lockheed Martin had been in talks with Washington about upping their production for war months ago. This was no spur of the moment thing that Jared, Benny and Cheeto had cooked up.
I take it in the first post, that meant "haven't stopped reading".
My middle kid was like that. Wouldn't read until we introduced him to fantasy. Read the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, then devoured the rest of the Chronicles, then Harry Potter and the works of Terry Pratchett.
Oh.
βWe have agreedβ β how nice of them! Surely theyβre doing this work pro bono right?
As well as Israel's expansion into Lebanon.
Like Mama Gump used to say, "stupid is as stupid does.", and it appears that sacking the smart people in Washington has not made things work very well at all.
Hopefully the ICC are compiling a file.
I'd say they're looking ahead. This war is not going to end in the next few days
The strait by which the tankers leave the Middle East are unsafe, so there will be shortages in the northern hemisphere.
Here in the southern hemisphere, AU & NZ get ours from Singapore, Japan and Korea.
So if the US knows Russia is supplying Iran with intelligence that helps it target the US, and the US knows that bombing Iran is increasing Russian oil sales and profits, one has to believe that someone in the US is in the pocket of Russia.
It would have to be someone pretty high up.
CBS obtained video of the DHS killing of an unarmed man in Texas that DHS concealed for nearly a year, which clearly contradicts claims that he violently rammed anyone. He is shot with his brake lights on, car not moving or barely moving. Another DHS crime.
Ambulance chaser type lawyer could have a field day with that on her behalf.
No Win, No Fee, No Worries!
Depending on who is doing the certification. If it is a tick n flick, they'd never have done a practical component, and not tested. The minimum should be a proper course conducted over several modules, oversight by an organisation in the field, like St John's.
Rob's got my vote.
This descendent of colonial crims and displaced persons believes there is a better way!
Now there's a panel who can speak to lived experiences of the demographics who should be listened to.
All the money for a better society. Cake stalls and shopping centre raffles for defence.
Dunno about tamed there Deb. In the primary vote last year, ALP netted only 34% of the vote, yet preferences handed them a very handy majority.
If the same happens in SA - reduced primary vote with preference swings - then it is unlikely they'll see it as anything less than they're in the right.
While pedo-in-chief is bombing Iran, Israel has turned its attention to upping the fight with Lebanon. Apparently the IDF and Hezbollah are engaged on the ground while airstrikes happen from above.
That sub was part of the exercises, wasn't it?
If that is so, it wasn't playing by the same rules, eh?
Not cool.
No not bliss!
We always thought our eldest was a bit over the place and always too busy!
Our youngest has been on a bit of a merry-go-round regarding his back. They were thinking ankylosing spondylitis, but now appears to be disc related. (Dad has AS.)
Tradies can't stay on the tools to 70!
That's even worse than what scant info I had.
I thought they were on their way home.
That's a bastard act, if ever there was one.
What's even more heinous, in Reuters reportage, is that sub was part of joint exercises with India and other nations that included Iran.
Their ship was on its way home from said exercises when the sub went after them.
