I had no idea. Thanks for clarifying. Trumpβs behavior certainly doesnβt square with his concerns about going to hell. But nothing about him or his administration makes any sense, unless, we view their actions through the lens of psychopathy.
Hmmm . . . all along during this presidential shitstorm Iβd been thinking, βHe behaves as if heβs immortal,β but your assessment of his motivation for his actions feels accurate and terrifyingly true. Iβd say, though, that his awareness of his mortality is largely unconscious.
Thanks for the reply. So heβs saying, βNo objectionβ? I hear it as βobjection.β My hearing must be off.
Serious question here as Iβm unfamiliar with committee rules & decorum: What are the implications of Jordan repeatedly declaring βobjectionβ? Does it mean these statements about Noem are kept off the *official* record?
βI will look into the caseβ is Noemβs favorite skipped record mantra, and a confession, really, to her egregious and criminal dereliction of duty.
Kristi Noem testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee using weasel words up the wazoo, *the likes of which nobody has ever seen before.*
I am so tired of fragile little men starting wars. I am so tired of fragile little men making policy decisions that harm us all. I am so tired of fragile little men doing horrendous harm to children and expecting us all to forget about it. I am so tired of fragile little men with their tantrums.
Itβs strange to live in a world where millions believe scientists, researchers, and doctors are all lying, but a fraud-convicted reality TV host is telling the truth.
These plain-speaking poems by Howie Good are deep. So much heart and soul.
This hurts the heart.
Everyone! Everyone! A poem for our times!
Happening tomorrow! Woo-hoo! π«

ICE in action terrorizing Maria Santay, a US citizen.
Because: patriarchy.
Because: racism. Because: entitlement.
Because: misogyny.
Because: sociopathy. Because: malignant narcissism.
Because: Trumpβs America.
Because: They can.

The kids are all right! Happening in San Francisco right now!
Two excellent must-read pieces by @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social that explain βcoercive control,β the dynamic fueling the stories Homan and this administration insist upon when resistors refuse to kowtow to their violent rhetoric and tactics. The old, ancient stories of the gaslighting patriarchy.

One little thing you can do if youβre feeling helpless tonight: throw a few bucks to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota. Theyβre reportedly stretched thin for obvious reasons and could use some help if you can offer it.

in me was a kind of chiming at the cellular/DNA level. Some deep, down subconscious part of me understood that I carried this meanness in me too, that this was the hideous gift of my genetic inheritance, & that it was my responsibility to undo it while living on this Earth. I applaud your TED talk.
