People Are Calling Meta Ray-Bans "Pervert Glasses" On Bluesky, users quickly embraced the term "pervert glasses" to refer to Meta's Ray Ban smart glasses, following a shocking investigation.

Make it stick.

Internally, WigglyPaint maintains three image buffers and edits them simultaneously, with different types of randomization applied for different drawing tools; many tools apply a random position offset between stroke segments or randomly select different brush shapes and sizes:

if you like wigglypaint or cool little things in general, this blog post from the person behind it is infuriating; ai shitbros stole his project, rehosted it with ads and ai garbage added in

ICO writes to Meta over 'concerning' AI smart glasses report Videos, including of glasses-wearers using the toilet or having sex, are sometimes reviewed by a Kenya-based subcontractor.

Last year when I was checking into a hotel, the desk person was wearing Meta glasses. I kindly asked them to take them off. They were annoyed. I said, β€œI do not consent to you looking at my credit card and ID with Meta glasses on.” My instincts were correct: www.bbc.com/news/article...

Abstract: Under the banner of progress, products have been uncritically adopted or
even imposed on users β€” in past centuries with tobacco and combustion engines, and in
the 21st with social media. For these collective blunders, we now regret our involvement or
apathy as scientists, and society struggles to put the genie back in the bottle. Currently, we
are similarly entangled with artificial intelligence (AI) technology. For example, software updates are rolled out seamlessly and non-consensually, Microsoft Office is bundled with chatbots, and we, our students, and our employers have had no say, as it is not
considered a valid position to reject AI technologies in our teaching and research. This
is why in June 2025, we co-authored an Open Letter calling on our employers to reverse
and rethink their stance on uncritically adopting AI technologies. In this position piece,
we expound on why universities must take their role seriously toa) counter the technology
industry’s marketing, hype, and harm; and to b) safeguard higher education, critical
thinking, expertise, academic freedom, and scientific integrity. We include pointers to
relevant work to further inform our colleagues.

Figure 1. A cartoon set theoretic view on various terms (see Table 1) used when discussing the superset AI
(black outline, hatched background): LLMs are in orange; ANNs are in magenta; generative models are
in blue; and finally, chatbots are in green. Where these intersect, the colours reflect that, e.g. generative adversarial network (GAN) and Boltzmann machine (BM) models are in the purple subset because they are
both generative and ANNs. In the case of proprietary closed source models, e.g. OpenAI’s ChatGPT and
Apple’s Siri, we cannot verify their implementation and so academics can only make educated guesses (cf.
Dingemanse 2025). Undefined terms used above: BERT (Devlin et al. 2019); AlexNet (Krizhevsky et al.
2017); A.L.I.C.E. (Wallace 2009); ELIZA (Weizenbaum 1966); Jabberwacky (Twist 2003); linear discriminant analysis (LDA); quadratic discriminant analysis (QDA).

are orthogonal nor do they exclusively pick out the types of products we may wish to critique or proscribe.

In May '25, a beloved Australian games website was sold off. It went dark then, a month later, rose from the dead but stuffed full of gambling links and AI authors.

It wasn't the first time, or the last time, this exact thing had happened. And it's still happening.

Responses to the We’re Done Playing Petition responses are often brutal. The layoffs game developers experience are shocking, callous, and wreak havoc on their lives, and the lives of the people closest to them.

Hey yall this is your chance to show the trans community you really are an ally and you're not just saying it for brownie points!!

-JK Rowling has said on numerous occasions that her income goes DIRECTLY into anti-trans legislation in the UK
-Seriously. NONE. Of it.

Mainstream reporters are desperate not to cover what's happening to trans ppl in the US.

The narrative was activists got a little too uppity and some mild hand smacking was needed to put them in their place.

The reality of a genocidal campaign of terror against a vulnerable 1% makes them look bad.

Universal income would mean more people like you and like me would be free to create more games.

But aren't there already too many games, you may ask?

Only if you need to worry about sales, says me, replying to you.

And you wouldn't, not with universal income. See how that goes all full circle?

Actually, it is precisely the bourgeoisie that has always played the hypocrite by characterising formal equality as β€œdemocracy”, and in practice using force against the poor, the working people, the small peasants and the workers, by employing countless means of deception, oppression, etc.

Hackers Expose Age-Verification Software Powering Surveillance Web Three hacktivists tried to find a workaround to Discord’s age-verification software. Instead, they found its frontend exposed to the open internet.

Discord was going to use age verification that literally pipes your information straight to the fascist US government, until hackers exposed it.
