Did you know that these birds can actually swim under water? They have little nose flaps that close in the water, and tons of feathers for a bird their size, to protect from the chill and currents.

Did you know that weโve been a 501(c)3 for 21 years? In fact, the catalyst for WEN was actually in 1996, among three folks who just knew we needed programming around watershed stewardship in #Missoula.

Colorado doesnโt know how much water it has. This CU scientist is kayaking to find out.
University of Colorado's Toby Minear captures river flow data with a NASA satellite he helped develop. Then he catches the current to check its work.
How do you measure water when most lakes donโt have gauges? CU hydrologist Toby Minear is kayaking Coloradoโs rivers to help validate NASA satellite data that could transform water management.

Western Monarchs Experience Average Winter Declines at Overwintering Sites
Migratory western monarchs experienced a 41% seasonal decrease at California overwintering sites compared to peak November tally.
While this overwintering season is, overall, the second lowest on record for western monarchs, we are glad to see that the butterflies that DID manage to make it to the overwintering sites appear to have survived the winter decently well. ๐ฆ
