For World Hearing Day, here's my reporting on how earplugs became cool for @thewalrus.ca
This came out last year. The piece means a lot to me because it includes some of my personal story
It's loud out thereβget some hearing protection, folks!
As a father to young kids, I know way more about PokΓ©mon than I ever imagined even possible
Shout out today to the PokΓ©mon with the best name, FlabΓ©bΓ©
Thanks for trusting me with the story. It's an important message!
I reported on a new museum in Canada dedicated to peace. Not a federal project, but a grassroots organization
What's the saying about never doubting that a small group of committed citizens can change the world?
Yes some of this has been reported in years past. But are we addressing it yet? #CDNHealth #CDNPoli #HealthInfrastructure #medsky #healthsky
This is a compelling stat, but do we have the doctors and nurses to care for people, whether or not they have a bed??
Anyone have fun pics with merch from recent shows? #music #musicsky
So do we treat the symptom, or tackle the causes? #healthsky #medsky
Wild, indeed!
Lots of red flags here
Anyone using Yuka? #healthsky #medsky #fitnesssky #gymsky
us02web.zoom.us/meeting/regi.... Topic: Universal Healthcare, What It Might Be in the U.S. Argument For Providers (And Patients!) In A State-Based Healthcare System. How Does Canada Do It?
Speaker: Henk Goorhuis, MD, FACEP
Helpful, helpful, thank you!
Interesting. Is conflating health and happiness helpful? Correlating them, surely ...
This is pretty good PR! Can I ask why now if the video is 7 years old?
Fascinating! How exactly is AI going to help capturing data from kids who have difficulty being scanned in the MRI?
Like the word vaccine comes from the Latin word for cow. We can pick another word and move on?
Getting the flu shot might not be as effective as in years past because of the strain, but it still reduces severity and hospitalizations
I don't know. Ok, great to have the obvious confirmed, and to hear a few voices that see this as an opportunity?
Great analysis of the numbers and the person.
Leaving Quebec's health-care network battered and broken. Below is my analysis of Health Minister Christian DubΓ©'s record following his surprise resignation today which caused shock waves in the province's political world: π

Great point!
Great use cases for AI in healthcare here. I feel like it's not even AI, or not the AI Silicon Valley hypes. It's just better software.
I'm not saying I like the result! But maybe it's not so surprising that boomers are taking priority over other generations?
Who needs the hips and knees? Like with the sexism the article unpacks (paying surgeons more for less complicated procedures on men), this is simply power at play ...
This article goes into great detail about some major issues plaguing Ontario's healthcare system. It truly blows my mind that hips & knees are the priority. Early interventions are ignored for pre-cancers, so the delays mean higher costs for cancer treatment.

y'all canada health care is insane why did the dental receptionist just give me a $5 gift card cause my appt is 30+ minutes behind
So is the vaccine this year "mismatched"? The reporting was confusing on that aspect. I got the flu vaccine (along with the Covid vaccine) last week. It was a rough night! But a great night if the vaccine is matched well to the current strains ...
