If that can mitigate naval strikes, not just Shaheds lobbed at static military installations, then that's great. But I'm not sure it will. We'll need to wait and see.

They've already demonstrated they're willing to do so, so yes. I guess there is an oil price where uninsured tankers will just run for it, we're in the finding out phase to see what that price is.
I can see two outcomes here: either trying to force a peace, which will have to include forcing Israel's hands, bc just walking away will not open the strait, or forcing an unconditional surrender, which will mean the deployment of nukes, bc nothing can achieve that on time. Both are unthinkable.
I now staunchly believe that an adventure in Cuba is more likely if this round with Iran blows up in their face rather than if it is somehow fixed (how???)
I'm gonna be able to afford a car :-)
The problem with the sinking of that Iranian ship was that a) it pissed off the Indians, while b) not providing any benefit to the US and c) shattering even the semblance of the conflict being geographically contained. Legally speaking it was totally legal. Well, as legal as the war itself is.
Utterly unsurprising, and so is the admin's unbreakable resolve to buddy up with these guys regardless, but it is a bit disheartening ngl.
"Are you saying he'd fire 500 rounds from a shotgun at his workplace" no
He does feel the most like a "normal politician" as far as guntubers go. What he does for a living isn't all that different from what he'd do as an elected representative.
If we're lucky this will be preventing (or at least mitigating) that. But who knows how it'll work out.
woof
I repeat: no one had to push Crusader Pete into this Holy War
It was a war crime (for not representing the Tiger's armor properly, that hit should've penned)
American friends... this is something that seems important and you can do something about it:

It's a good thing Europe is finally rearming, now, the next step of my master plan: bombing the shit out of and destabilizing the state responsible for containing the backlash of our Middle East misadventures of the past 30 years!
Comparing Turkey to Iran is straight up insane. And a fast-rearming Europe is definitely not going to allow America to do "containment", which, for all we know, is "bombing a country senselessly". Notable they don't even pretend to care about Turkish democracy either.
"This whole saga smacks of Eastern Euro bullshit, did this make it to the US, too?"

"Ah"
Godspeed!
I think Zelensky is savvy enough to get some useful military hardware out of this deal. Yeah, AAA would be best, but that's obviously off the table, so it'll be something else, but there's no reason not to go for it.
Hey @lauren.rotatingsandwiches.com how does the pizza recipe with a bunch of olives go again? Thanks for the help in advance π
OH
So we're at the ΡΠΏΠ΅ΡΠΎΠΏΠ΅ΡΠ°ΡΠΈΡ phase now, huh?
I'm gonna be honest, this was my impression, too.
For the love of all that's holy, DO NOT DO THIS! That's UXO, even if it looks like a funny plane.
Clowns, all of them
Two possibilities: start amassing troops in bases constantly being hit by Iran, then send them in when munitions have run dry, and air support starts struggling, or a Caracas-style adventure with limited SOF and the goal of ???
Good luck with either option.
There we go, France will increase its nuclear arsenal, intensify nuclear weapons cooperation with the UK, develop share frameworks with Germany and other EU partners.
"Radical Islamists can't have nuclear weapons" is nice on the surface, but then, what's up with Pakistan?
Not to mention, doing it after munitions stockpiles have been depleted so air support capability is significantly diminished when it's most needed... what? Even if you take Hegseth at his word, this is just an embarrassingly stupid and dangerous way of trying to achieve what he wants.
Everything else aside, starting to amass ground troops *after* you started an air campaign and Iran has demonstrated it can and will hit your regional bases, so any grouping you try is way more exposed to being struck, while you took your sweet time amassing naval and air assets... what??
Which is to say, it's probably a good time to buy Rheinmetall and Hensoldt stock (this is not financial advice)
