And to be fair - there has been a significant jump in code quality in every 4 series point model. Only issue it has is if the API spec has recently changed, it often will still build to the OLD spec. Probably more an issue of its training having so much documentation on the old way.

This whole mess just feels fatal to OpenAI. Maybe not in the sense the company collapses, but it becomes like AOL.. a slow hollowing out from the inside due to bad business decisions. Not necessarily a good thing either. xAI is the only other decent American alternative.
And it’s training on real world data.. so future Claude models will be very much aware of this unless it’s specifically cut out of its training material, which why would they do that, tbh

Yeah diving into MCPs has been eye opening. I am like, wow, this is such a simple way to fix what has been one of the biggest problems for anyone trying to keep AI from telling people to drink bleach lol
And most people will tell you that what some call AGI is actually just really well-coded AI. The memory and factual issues were the two biggest, which will give AI the appearance of AGI when, in fact, it's not actually trying to locate a needle in a haystack of hundreds of billions of data points.
MCPs are also why I think the fears of a massive collapse in the software industry are overblown. There is a lot of work remaining yet, and some things like UI will always need a human touch.
I've been experimenting with an MCP server here, and it does change the quality of responses. It's not pulling from a vast memory full of potential holes and inaccuracies; it's pulling from REAL data. And if that's wrong, so is the data humans have, because it's the same.
MCP servers are the single biggest feature release for LLMs in the past two years. It solved the problem of context (and AI's tendency to hallucinate). It's why most modern AI skeptics are behind in AI's honest capabilities. The truth is, AIs connected to MCPs rarely hallucinate. The truth is there.
