That's quite the commitment.

The first biography I ever read (in my mid-teens) was about themβ€”a tad sad as I recall. (The next one was on Jack Benny and Bob Hope after that.)

If, like me, you can put up with the constant verbal abuse and no salary or prospects, the job here could be yours.

The Paddy's Week junket to the US must be preserved at all costs.
If the Yanks reduced the planet to a smoking apocalyptic wasteland, there'd be an Irish politician crawling through the ashes to present a bowl of radioactive shamrock to the last remaining American mutant.

A sensible cost savings measure.

I think we need a tea trolley at the ILT offices. Maybe if I embraced AI, I could divert some of the staff from our Accounts department to operate it. I'm thinking about a tiered tray of cakes and pastries too, but the people from accounts might find that an unnecessary expense. They can be tight.

Tomorrow the postman is bringing me my new book; this is basically Christmas Eve for a writer.

β€œI’m so happy. I love writing songs. I love Ireland. I love Dublin. Up the Dubs. Up Bohs. Up Dunboyne. Free, free Palestine.”

Not really. I was camping there a few years back when I was asked to give a reading to a group visiting from Wellesley College, Ma.

I shipped 40 boxes of books from Canada to Ireland five years ago and put them into storage. Two weeks ago, I had to move them to a new storage spaceβ€”the weight mattered. (I like to think a slim book of poetry weighs more than a sprawling novel, but the movers and shippers would strongly disagree.)
