60 years ago today, 38 year old Rev. James Reeb, who suffered severe head injuries when he was attacked by white mob in Selma two days ago, dies in a Birmingham hospital.

On this day in 1965, the Reverend James Reeb died after a group of white men opposed to his civil rights work attacked him in Selma. Three men later indicted for the Rev. Reeb's murder were acquitted by an all-white jury.

An agency nurse came on Thursday & took down my chemo pump. I was upset because of the cancellation of NIH cancer research. I mentioned it to the nurse who told me I should try “alternative meds,” like dissolving baking soda in water and drinking it. WTF. 1/2

that it is not to rejoice that a healthcare/insurance CEO was murdered. That isn’t comeuppance, karma, justice, whatever. It’s vigilantism, and it’s horrifying, and it’s wrong. 3/3

I have my own nightmares with regards to healthcare in the United States and the abject poverty it can plunge you into when something unexpected happens to your health. I’m about to lose everything (home, car) and it’s especially hard given that my mother just died. The stress and uncertainty 1/3

A lot of the positions people like RFK jr. take (anti-vax, anti-pasteurization etc.) get described as “controversial.”
They’re not. There is no controversy. This is long-settled science. The correct term is “stupid.”
Trump is now < 50%, and leads Harris < 2%. This election was extremely close.
That margin will have enormous consequences. But it’s small enough that instead of debating which vulnerable groups and standards of decency Dems should abandon, they could just focus on how to better defend both.
