Iran has every right to defend itself
My latest piece out on @palabranahj.bsky.social details how residents in San Diegoβs historic Barrio Logan are sounding the alarm over gentrification, the threat to the neighborhoodβs landmark murals & the parallels to other gentrifying Latino neighborhoods.

For sure. There is some imperial arrogance in the admin. But you are right, Iran is not Venezuela. Iran has much more advanced military and some regional countries that can help. Netanyahu is an extension of U.S. imperialism, I wouldnβt put the blame on just him.
Today, seeing how the Trump administration is moving military aircraft carriers towards the Middle East for a potential war with Iran is insane. The region is already littered with U.S. military bases. This would be a regional war.
Everyone needs to be against this war.
In January 2020, I remember thinking we were really close to going to war with Iran, or at least the closest in my lifetime, because Trump killed General Qasem Soleimani along with Iraqi officials. Iran retaliated with a measured strike. Then Covid-19 hit in March, and things kinda went quiet.
In 1973, Jesse Jackson & Angela Davis met with Crusade for Justice, a Chicano civil rights org fighting against police brutality. 6 years later, Jesse Jackson met with Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) leader Yasser Arafat in Beirut, Lebanon. Rest in Power, Jesse Jackson

This is cool! Love all the easter eggs from Bad Bunnyβs performance, and my favorite, not LA-related, was Lady Gaga.

A lot of businesses across L.A. are closing tomorrow in solidarity with the people of Minneapolis and the nationwide movement to get ICE and DHS out of our communities.
Historic moment.
ICE kidnapped someone on this street corner. Now its empty. No flowers, no neighbors.
βofficers found only one antique rifle and a pistol that belonged to the only white resident of the town. Nevertheless, they tied up 15 Mexican American men and boys from the village and shot them until they ran out of bulletsβ

*Border Patrol Agents, not ICE
Around 8:40 AM this morning, off 139th Street and Nestor Ave in the Compton neighborhood, ICE agents arrested two workers who were putting down concrete on a house they were working on.
The video was sent to me by a friend of a homeowner.
