This gives Trump + Turkey + Ukraine a lot of leverage against Russia. It could be the start of the end of the war.

If the rebel forces make it to Homs, Damascus will be cut off from Russia’s naval base at Tartus.

If they then turn West, Russia cannot take its warships out of the Black Sea under the Montreux Convention laws while at war with Ukraine.

Someone needs to go through and archive every single mention of Ukraine or Russia that David Sacks has made. They will not age well. He will eventually try to delete them.

It was shocking when I first got on X but has made me basically completely immune to criticism now. X trolls are like a vaccination. You can’t clap back at them because they’re all anonymous and you’re not, but NAFO does a good job fighting fire with fire sometimes and taking care of it.

Yea, tbh, I wasn’t as engaged back then. I remember thinking Poroshenko seemed like the better choice and was surprised to have some extended family say they were against him. I think a lot of young people also voted against him. I watched the debate but it was hard to follow the nuance from abroad

Voters who wanted the pro-Russian candidate (Yuriy Boyko) in the 1st round in the Eastern region subsequently chose Zelensky over Poroshenko.

That means that Zelensky was chosen by the more pro-RU voters in Ukraine.

Why?

Poroshenko’s popularity in the 2014 election (Western dominant) vs Zelensky’s popularity in 2019 in the 1st/2nd round (South and East dominant).

Looking back at historical elections, it seems the pattern is that Western Ukraine picks the candidate with the better policy for defence.
