(I don't mean literally John Stonehouse, but something weird like that.)
There's definite John Stonehouse potential here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_St...
youβre correct! I am not qualified to run for US Senate. And yet I am also much more qualified than Graham Platner. If you think I should not run for Senate I would challenge you to explain what Platner has that I do not
Just yesterday @timmiller.bsky.social was alibying Platner's Reddit posts on the Next Level, but this is apparently beyond the pale π
I donβt think heβs a nazi but heβs a fucking dumbass with very poor judgment and doesnt seem to do much of anything to atone for it
I'm not certain he's a Nazi (more likely than not he isn't), but I am certain he's too dumb to be a senator.
Given how last minute this was, Dems need to have a team of lawyers go over his petitions.
Sabatos Crystal Ball moves Montana Senate to Likely Republican from Safe Republican
We've seen House members end their reelection campaigns at just the right moment to ensure their preferred successor faces no serious opposition. Florida R Bill Posey did it in 2024, while Illinois D Chuy Garcia did it in November.
But it's something else to see it at the Senate level.
Are we going to have our first "Some Dude" vs "Some Dude" Senate election? @the-downballot.com
!!! Per local Montana news, Sen Steve Daines has withdrawn his name for re-election, literally minutes before the deadline to do so.
No, for that he needs a deep voice, HS diploma from Hotchkiss, a grandfather who was a world-renowned architect, a business with his mom as his only customer, an "accidental" Nazi tattoo, and embarrassing taste in podcasts.
basically there are a lot of people who are utterly convinced that "racism" is a cheat code for winning in politics. some of those people are left of center, where being racist is generally frowned upon. and so they spend lots of time trying to find plausibly deniable ways of doing racism
Their adoration of him completely gives away the game. All they care about are a few aesthetic markers of masculinity and a few populist buzzwords. Grow a killer beard, learn to shoot, and say "oligarchy" a bunch and they think you're literally qualified to be a United States senator.
Platner said he's a long-time fan of THIS show
What gives me special insight is that Iβm a Military Sexual Assault survivor, and that I was in that documentary about it that he made fun of
Collins absolutely has a massive trove of Platner dirt ready to go the day after the primary, it's going to be a bloodbath
I remember when the entire political establishmentβDemocrats, Republicans, and the pressβsavaged Howard Dean after he said that capturing Saddam didnβt make us safer. Of course he was completely right.
Donβt fall for βDemocrats think itβs bad the ayatollah is dead!β trolling.
Never forget
This is one of my pettier impulses but I want the record to reflect just how often this motherfucker said that Kamala Harris was the pro-war candidate in 2024.
THIS is the way. This is the midterm message, right here.
Promise to expose and go after corruption πππ
If not now, then after Labour gets destroyed in the local elections perhaps!
I really don't have words
Talarico releases internal showing him ahead of Crockett 47-43. This survey, which was conducted Feb. 10-12, is even olderβand also pre-Colbertβbut it doesn't suffer from the other problems that UT's poll presented. Of course, though, it's an internal poll for the Talarico campaign.
This poll is full of interesting data!
- Trump's approval at 40-55 (!!)
- Dem's have a 6 point lead in who voters want to lead the House
- Fetterman's approval at 46-40, only 22% of Dems support him
- Shapiro up 18 points (!!) in next year's Governor election
