And I bet self employment has been extra rough in this idiotic employer-driven market. Thinkin bout yβall, too.
Thanks for saying! Yes Iβve worked to know this and now feel it. Whatβs funny is Iβm now waaay better at what I do than Iβve ever been. Because besides looking for work, I spend the full βwork dayβ developing my craft, doing my own research and tracking it on my blog. So feelin pretty good :)
Totally β Iβm one of these ppl still looking after 10mo! π§‘
I hear you. Even with direct referrals, from someone at the company or who personally knows the HM, in this employer-friendly climate often amount to nada. Thanks for sharing the example here :)
Preaching to the choir! I know this to be true. Dubbed previously, if unofficially, as the teamβs Chief of Staff - because of all the team setting, rituals, and building Iβd do - only to be laid off. The team members left tell me productivity, drive, and morale are nearly gone. No surprise.
Indeed. So many of us do the overlooked care work and are even penalized. In a previous role, I was denied a promotion *because* I spent too much time helping others, apparently to the point that my work suffered (it didnβt). They just couldnβt see how helping others elevates the whole team.
βThe technology crashed and burned at xeroxβ lol.

Itβs been decades since but I wonder how much time I lost because I choose other majors, hobbies, and jobs
Friendly reminder that itβs ok to still be angry with high school math teachers who told you that youβre bad at math.

Totally. How on earth do we rely on Extensions to offer this?
Timing + Attitude + Form = Respectful Feedback π§‘
So good Iβm adding this article to my Team Setting repository. Thank you for sharing!
Observation + Impact +
Question= Actionable feedback π§‘
Love this. I find that giving feedback is a great way to stay human, and tell someone you actually paid attention. We move on so quickly from things that, without taking a moment to acknowledge, we run the risk of losing value and meaning in what we do.
Google Calendar is finally available in dark mode for desktop. Thank you to the UX and Eng teams for making this user happy π
Care to share an example? Iβm in love with good org behavior & communication :)
RIP proper care with organizational behavior to motivate ppl
Yesterday I asked perplexity and ChatGPT the same question. Each gave the opposite answer. And when I told them what each said, they both said the other was right. This is what happened when ppl blindly trust LLMs.
This is absolutely the scariest part. Yesterday I asked perplexity and ChatGPT the same question. Each gave the opposite answer. And when I told them what each said, they both said the other was right. This is what happened when ppl blindly trust LLMs.
This is Salmon, the cat, who just wants his treats and food together.
TL;DR -> modifying the autoship order proves so challenging that the only successful way to complete the process is to cancel the original order and create a brand new one.
Turning my own user experience into research, I conducted a Task Analysis mapping my journeyπ€
Easy-to-use is the bare minimum for any digital experience. I tried, and failed, to add another item to my catβs routine autoship food order. So you can imagine my frustration when no button exists called "Add Additional Items."

The beautiful thing: it doesnβt seem to matter here. Say nothing, say everything. Whatever, welcome :)
Might as well troll when they hit those DMs π
This is why #userresearch is important
Indeed! Nuanced approaches that may hold competing thoughts and/or more than one thought at once, here here!
Artificial cases, good. But now we have a *misinformation* problem: ppl might trust doctors less, bc the perception might be ChatGPT is better at diagnosis, *since a widely published article like this can highlight positives over negatives of LLM use cases* [concerned ppl researcher over here ππ» ]
