I feel like I'm not really the target audience for most fantasy. I don't care about how you changed the days of the week to something that makes sense or your years are shorter/longer. Just give me the important bits the rest is all filler in my eyes.

I think it's fine for specialist characters, rogue, assassins, etc. But I'm not a huge fan of the option for everyone. It feels antiquated to me.

Lore to me is anything that's not content and not rules. All setting info, flavor text, character narrative, history etc.

I think it's fine to place it wherever especially in a ttrpg. If I don't like the lore at my table I change or ignore it. I control the cannon

I remember I didn't follow a rule or even find a care to look it up in a playtest. Needless to say that rule got tossed into the sun immediately.

I feel ya. The more niche the hobby the more isolated I feel. I straight up don't agree with 90% of what other ttrpg devs say or their methodology.

I always felt like I fit in with photographers though. Just a super chill non crab in a bucket hobby.
