My all time favourite piece of RRB, from the very first CD I recorded, 28 years ago!
I loved recording those overture discs for ASV. David Dunhill (composer’s son and famous BBC Radio announcer) came along to the session and exuded delight!
Yep. Crossing the fingers here too for same on Monday (and on to Helsinki as well!) 🙏🏻
“You can also have them come and act it live in your front room, but store-bought DVD is also fine…”
The Speculoos ones aren’t too shabby, but these - picked them up, thought “Nah…”, and moved on…
I set this as a friendly test to all my friends every year, to see either how many tunes they think appear, or better still, what they all are - Tomlinson’s cleverest work by far.
One of my favourite recordings of the many I’ve done (that you are kind to play often!!)
It’s out today!
My work with composer #AsafZohar for the @NationalTheatre production of #BalletShoes - available on #Spotify and all streaming platforms… Enjoy!

I remember crying with laughter when I first saw this. Chief among the major laughs was one of the books from Moth - The Disappointing Kettle.
Bravo, Al - and thanks for the plug (nice to sort-of-feature two-and-a-half times as well!!)
Michael Tippett and Sir Adrian Boult would like a word…
This theme tune feels like RH with writer’s block!
As the late great Sir Harry sang it himself: “ 🎶 I did it Hiiiiiiiiighwaaaaaaaaaayyy… 🎶 “
“Ah, one more of us, one less of them…”
<faints>
As ever, a lovely article, and, as ever, one that prompts me to explore.
Agree with you about MTM though…!
Introduce yourself with five concerts you’ve seen
Klaus Wunderlich
Iron Maiden
Czech Philharmonic Orchestra
Nina Simone
Annie Ross
Containing that really tricky word to sing, “Quoth”…
Wow!
Very sad news. Worked with her in concert many years ago and the love for her from both the platform and the audience made for a truly special vibe. RIP…
All needs to shove one crotchet to the right though…!! Looking good mind!
I think he wanted to be smart and “know” that it was Jim Bray, but then his eyes soften in realisation… although he does make sure that he’s not masked when Edge arrives. I understand your thoughts behind it too, mind. And of course PS hotfooted it out of there… inevitable really!
It’s his face when he discovers they’ve brought Edgington over from NZ at the end… absolute shock!
My favourite RRB piece, one of my favourite pieces of all time, from the very first CD I recorded 28 years ago!
Ooh! Me sir! Me! Me sir! Can I be Musical Director, Light Entertainment please? Can I? Please? PLEEEEEEASE?
Finally, the album #AndTheNextProgrammeFollowsShortly with the Fast Tunes Orchestra has now been listed on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube - but still available on CD and luxury double vinyl from the Bandcamp site (see @fasttunesltd.bsky.social for details)

Beanz Meanz Heinz has ducked and dived since the late 50s… ASDA Price <tap tap>…
Who on earth thought that title was a good idea, though?? Who??
Lawd knows, and he looked the type that was addicted to Lion Bars.
