➡️ In 2023, Meta found that Instagram's "Accounts You Might Follow" product feature recommended adult groomers to nearly 2 million minors in 3 months.
We find a consistent gap between companies’ public safety claims and the data they collect internally on effectiveness.

In documents produced in US litigation, we've gotten a small window into how online platforms measure harms and their mitigations. Why aren't DSA risk assessments -- which are designed for just this purpose -- actually assessing risk?
💡The broader takeaway: risks are increasingly well-described in EU risk assessments, but mitigations are not communicated using rigorous, outcome-oriented data and evidence.
