I’m sitting in the Cathedral of Learning right now, and teaching at Pitt this spring. This city feels very friendly and walkable and I love the buses but I have heard they are not great through the whole system.
These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.

If you want to investigate police unions, overtime scams are usually a good place to start. NYPD ran the same #CollarsForDollars scam during the Stop & Frisk era — arrest people of color near quitting time & rack up HUGE overtime pay while slowly “processing” them. Taxpayers bilked for billions!
