I think it's WILD that the language most closely related to my native vernacular is a language in another continent. And I love seeing how Afrikaans and Modern Dutch developed in different directions and still there are so many words that we can understand.

I'm Dutch, the Dutch word for spider is spin and the plural form is spinnen. Spinnen (infinitive form of a verb) means spinning, in the sense of preparing wool for knitting or weaving. And it also means purring because spinning and happy cats sound similar.

It was amazing. Venue says they treat all their visitors like rock stars. And they really do. Wasn't until this morning I discovered I had a view, albeit narrow and a bit distant, of the production entrance from my window. There's a missed opportunity 😕
