Name your favorite film from the year you were born.
(Weird, maybe, given that I grew to HATE westerns before I was 15, but this one was GREAT. And FUNNY!)
@legacyhero
Neurodivergent. Aggressively anti-theistic. Liberal as hell. Criminal Justice degree. Fan of superheroes. I can't auto-follow-back. I'd go insane! FUCK AI!! It takes jobs from ARTISTS and other PEOPLE!! NO PORN/INFLUENCER FOLLOWERS, EVER!

Post an iconic horror movie image.
I've read it once and listened to the audiobook once already. WELL worth it!
as someone who is trying to read more, this book made it really easy. and dare i say, i might read it again?
I find the lady to be gorgeous, but even SHE can't make THAT look anything other than atrocious!
Where I am concerned, that's HIGH PRAISE, so I'll be looking into this book!
I aqm rather pleased with this line from my WIP:
βWelcome to a new world,β I muttered. βOkay, why is it that I think of all the questions that I should have asked now that itβs too late? Oh, right, Iβm human.β
So, I was right. No surprise. As for "intereact with strangers... you're telling me that you PERSONALLY KNOW everyone who follows you or vice-versa.
Yeah. Right.
Dunno if you've heard, but on the internet, interacting with strangers is a VERY common occurrence.
Suck it up, puppy.
So you're saying that you don't give a shit about other people's pleasure. Got it, jackass. As for "consume it in a timely manor," what about those (like myself) who quite LITERALLY can't? I'm homebound and on a fixed income. I can't see movies in theaqters. So, what, to hell with me, right?
So far I've delved into: Guns, non-lethal force weapopns, hand-to-hand weapons, cultural divergence in technological and scientific advancement, sociology (more of a peek, there, or I'll NEVER come out, it fascinates me), dogs' sense of smell, dog training, and language development. FUN!
Over 11,000 words in the work-in-progress, now, and I am... reasonably content. I also have a bizzarre-ish title, which actually *fits* the work, so yeah, quite happy. "The Gate to All of Every" is proving to be fun. And educational, just not in... traditional ways....
Concept art for the Thundarr the Barbarian cartoon by Jack Kirby, with text by Buzz Dixon that reads: "Thundarr development art I'd never seen before, apparently because Jack used an early design for Ookla and Joe Ruby didn't send it out as reference."
@peterclines.com, have you ever seen this? I had no idea Kirby did this! Or that he was involved in the production.
So, who'll be in charge of the rebellion to put YOU in charge of the country? I'll cheerfully volunteer for coding/communications, as my autism gives me an advantage when it comes to making ciphers, etc! :-D
Also, do I call you Princess, or General?
Higher education? Free or at SANE rates?
Oh, man, I missed this, after I suggested it! Saw it in you asrt-gif, and HAD to come and fgind it. THAT is AWESOME!
I do NOT support that Tangerine Rape Machine, but I can still make a reasoned supposition: Probably to hold democrats after we finally lose our patience and begin an open rebellion.
I may have mentioned it before, but just in case, I rrrrrrrrreally like your sense of perspective!
No one in your area delivers groceries? That service has saved the sanity of my agoraphobic self for some time, now.
That one's in production now. I have seen a few little bits of art from it. Check out Bleeding Cool or Comic Book Movies, I've seen articles at both spots.
Once more for the weekend crowd...
After putting that image into my head, I hope that you're willing to call me up and sing me to sleep-- because I may never sleep again, otherwise! (I still can't believe that people actually TOOK that stuff. Even MAGA-types!)
In this week's ranty writing blog post, I'm blathering on about the Children of Tama, best original screenplay winners, in-jokes, and writing dialogue nobody understands.
If any of that piques your interest.
Name a film you've seen 8 times:
"The Last Dragon" (1985)
This month's newsletter may be a few days late this week because it falls on a weekend and it's Valentine's Day weekend, but you may be interested to know I'll be doing a small free giveaway in it, if free things appealed to you in this economy.
So hey- sign up now, newsletter probably on Monday.
I flatly REFUSE to listen to an audiobook read by "Virtual Voice." Or, for that matter, to buy, in any format, ANYTHING written by an author who uses that DRECK. Period!
HUMANS OR BUST!
And he was absolutely *fantastic* (pun intendedwith malice aforethought) in both!
Post a ship that's not Star Trek or Star Wars:
Short thread of note, especially to those who defend or advocate the use of AI in creative endeavors, and call creative people "gatekeepers" for calling AI "creations" the derivative GARBAGE that they are:
Last night I learned a new thing: Raccoons can PURR. I had no idea until one of the little ones that I've gotten to be pals with climbed into my lay, and, when I started petting them, started PURRING. I thought I was nuts, but today, I looked it up, and I'm not nuts. This is SO happy-making!
