Colorado Gov Jared Polis' seemingly imminent clemency for Tina Peters would be a massive victory for those urging Trump to seize control of elections.
NEW: Mesa County District Attorney Dan Rubenstein (R) who prosecuted Tina Peters says Gov Jared Polis (D) giving Peters clemency "would be a gross injustice." Rubenstein points out that separate case cited by Polis to justify clemency misses the purpose of sentencing ranges.
NEW: Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold (D) says Tina Peters "should get no special treatment" from Governor Jared Polis (D), calling Polis' statement hinting at clemency for Peters "shocking and worrisome." Griswold statement below.
All else aside, it’s hard to describe how disingenuous this comparison is. SJL faked letters of support to duck a state legislative ethics probe. Peters participated in a plot to undermine Colorado’s elections and has spent her brief time in prison getting in fights and earning write-ups.

Austin Tucker Martin was shot and killed by Secret Service outside Mar-a-Lago. He was a Trump supporter who believed Trump's lies that he'd take down the Epstein network.
The disillusioned young man tried to enter the club with a shotgun after becoming upset with Trump's ongoing Epstein cover-up.
A reminder that no matter how many videos of ICE abuses appear online, a chunk of America, a big chunk of Trump’s base, is not just totally fine with it, they want it, enjoy it, revel in it. The cruelty is indeed the point. The rest of us non-sociopaths need to reckon with that depressing reality.
