A letter with a stamp that has been canceled with a black sharpie and a postcard with an uncanceled stamp. My hand is blocking the addresses on the letter.

What is up with the USPS? Two pieces of local mail with no or hand cancelations, one of which looks stepped on.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Note dated Fri, Sep 19, 5:48 AM: Dream: pre ww1, lord planning to wed a girl he doesn't like, falls in love with a servant boy. Servant boy ends up going to war - in part to hide the fact that he's a tentacled shape shifter. He returns from war at the time of the wedding and the lord leaves the girl, follows the boy and professes his love.

Looking back through my notes to myself are wild. Why have I not fleshed this dream out into a short story yet!?

Oh joy. The super urgent email i sent late yesterday hit after the person had left, but before their vacation OoO notice kicked in.

So it took me 3 hours of wasted time today to realize I needed to email someone else.

Needless to say, it did not make its expected delivery date.
