I'm still writing code the hard way. I'm slow. I like to think critically about every line of code and fiddle with variable names until everything looks right. I treat code as a liability and try to ship only what's necessary.
It's hard to imagine writing code any other way.

The tree is a cast from a mold I made earlier this year, of a tree I sculpted last winter. The skull on the trunk I sculpted on using Magic Sculpt, which I just recently discovered.
From this, uh, left-hand view? You can see the roots extended and some Knucklebones skulls.
I need to find and credit the creators of the rat and lanterns. The bricks I cut from XPS foam, the beams are just craft sticks, and the extended roots are sculpted in milliput.

Our local group has decided to play Mordheim this winter, so I've been painting up some skaven by @knucklebonesminis.bsky.social . While I'm not quite done painting, we have gotten together for a couple of learning games, where my ratty bois have been doing pretty well.

Hell yes is right! This is one of the most exciting games I've picked up in the last couple of years - maybe I'll actually get to play it someday.
I got my copy from Ramshackle last year, when they were hard to get. Stoked to see a reprint.
I got a lot out of Retrotech 2.0, I felt it really paints a great picture of the technical universe and encourages building lists around all the mechs in my pile of potential that haven't been fielded yet.

Battletech, on the other hand, is the game for which I allow all of the extra crunch and rules. With a little effort one can learn the game well enough to have fun pretty quickly, but the option is there to go deeper, incorporate more complexity for a richer game if one desires.
Many of the games I build models for and play are art projects above all. They have light rule sets that can be learned in a game or two. They are super fun, are easy to teach and look great on the table.

The resin vat to my printer, now with shiny new, blue, film gasket.
Replacing the FEP on my resin printer, dislodged a gasket that stretched and would not go back in. Found a file, printed a new one in TPU!

I'd be stoked to work with local artists and make molds for them as well.
Between the bounty hunter, the stone oven, the doors and the mold currently curing, I'm starting to see a hint of a catalog. Maybe I'll put up a shop? Nobody would want these, but it's good practice, and since it's cast to order, there's no overhead.
Since I work from home, it's pretty easy to slip away from time to time to make another cast, at least when the weather is warm. I figure I can't make all of the mistakes I need to learn from if I'm not at least somewhat dedicated.
Another mold is in the works, curing as we speak.
