It did... and then it didn't. I suspect it's my rubbish soldering (eyesight and arthritis).

An abomination of a antenna. Cake tin, pizza dishes, old plumbing pipe and various odds of scrap metal. Winch up mast for ยฃ20 from our local junk shop!

I finished building our conservatory, wheelchair accessible walkway and gazebo. Time to get back stuck in working on SHF station and hydrogen line observatory.
Taking full advantage of the new conservatory. Probably a smidgen premature to exchange the winter tweed for summer linen, but oh hey.
It's getting to be quite a cosy little room. Coax pass through is next on the build list.
3 months in the making and I need to find the right screws for the cat flap, but having tea in the conservatory.
There are two more panels to fit on the front, some painting, door handle to fit, cat flap to fit, small threshold ramp to build and a carpet to put down, but the conservatory / Space Communication Centre is well underway!
Two months away from finally leaving the NHS. Time to finish the conservatory, set up the dish and make the garden more wheelchair accessible for the memsahib. Happy times.
@jasonp-syd31.bsky.social welcome to the light side chap!
It really has. Hope you're well.
@alex-monroe.bsky.social hello!
Noice. I do love tweed, and tweed weather. My Harris tweed Inverness cape is like going out wrapped in a duvet.
The rustic conservatory is well underway. A little table in corner with laptop and the IC9700 near the dish ready for spring.
I was doing work on the conservatory whilst running some experiments. Might have opened a doorway to the Dark Dimension. Sorry about that.
Unfortunately, the extinction level meteor didn't hit. So I'm going to have to get ready for work.
A&E is going to be chaos.
Azzy is out scoring crack (or whatever it is the wayward kitty does during her morning travels). Mummy cat Boo and I are snuggling in the warmth awaiting her return. #catsofbluesky
Azzy is a nutcase and rarely still enough for a photograph, but she decided to pose and look pretty.

I have work to do!
Boo: Not today daddy.
Materials for the conservatory have turned up and part of the packaging may be recycled into a boom to connect the cantenna to the reflector dish.
I'm way ahead of you.
Everyone involved in the making of the 1988 film The Barbarians should stand in the corner and have a long hard think about what they've done.
Yes, I did watch it all the way through.
I suspect we'll do the same. I am planning on a wood and polycarbonate conservatory, which may house the 9700 and SDR receivers for radio astronomy during warmer months.
I'm very happy with it. I do have an eye on grown up daughter's bedroom for when she eventually flies the nest though. I'm not sure that'll fly with the station master though.
My shack pic. It's literally a broom cupboard.

Nearly finished the decking and ramps. I'm thinking it wouldn't be too much of a project to build a wood and polycarbonate conservatory to house a space observation/communication station...
Top and bottom of the world! Thanks Mr Postman.

This is why (together with bot generated dross) I moved away from FaceBrick. Chronological order is perfectly fine thanks.

I often struggle with 'imposter syndrome', but then remember that I can make bits of wire, scraps of metal and a bit of mathematical magic, sing songs that can be heard the world over and hear the songs of the stars. So I'm practically a wizard.
