Pastry loaded with different fruits and flours compared to similar piece on the right hand side that was done with cheap colored pencils in 2023
I'm fooling around with alcohol markers underneath my colored pencils. The end result is on the left (alcohol markers and Prisma Premiers). Compared to a piece using the same reference in 2023 with Crayola's.

I've found that the beauty blender make up sponges work great for dark areas as well. You can buy them pretty cheap.
