I thought comic collectors would make great advocates for a visual library due to their appreciation of graphic arts & entertainment
Sadly Patton #Oswalt, who's great at everything comic, never responded to my attempts at engagement via email or social media
His Bluesky imitator did want to chat!
First attempts to enlist #Flea s #SCM public benefit org to pass along suggestions on how to improve the #KPL site went unanswered
Disappointingly, Micheal #Maltzan, the library's architect ignored entreaties for an introduction
The assistance of the cream of comic book collectors was also sought
Attempts to briefly engage w/ #Flea of #RHCP re: the best disposition of his architectural wonderland preserve will end before the planned 9-9 #KPL STEM+A&E visual library opening
It's not yet too late for a hero he knows to show him the best use of a heptagon home for his & our society's future
I wish anyone reading this who knows the philanthropic owner would inquire if he has considered allowing an amazing #STEAM library to be sited there. It's an ideal place to lift their spirits & expose a busload of fantastic visiting students to athletics, academics & the arts in just a few hours
A delicate #Neutra design at the other property, just over 6mi NW of #JPL, was earlier designated as LA Historic-Cultural Monument 740. New architectural masterpieces of stick & stone have since joined the Serulnic home on the isolated 5.7 acre parcel at the edge of civilization & nature
It resembled the cabins on a riverboat whose hull had been buried in mud. The port hole windows seemed too small for proper light & ventilation.
It's a cultural landmark now due to its' history of religious radio broadcasts & later musical recordings in what became Silverlake's Boat House Studio
This unique building always reminded me of Bark's Uncle Scrooge story "The Great Steamboat Race" whenever I glimpsed it driving S on Hyperion in W #Silverlake. I recently discovered that one of the #RHCP had acquired it 8 years before he bought another LA property barely 10 miles due N

Well Said!
I love this so much.
As always, it was a treat to hang out with 270 pals for a screening of one of my movies at @vidiots.bsky.social! Tonight, that movie was Gremlins 2: The New Batch, on a 35mm print!! I was accompanied by a special guest for my Q&A.

Me, on the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot tram tour in 1969, after touring a soundstage and the Alfred Hitchcock bungalow. Spacecraft on the hill may have been from the 1968 film, βCountdownβ or βLand of the Giantsβ TV show. BTW, thatβs a faux turtleneck Iβm wearingβstill, groovy nonetheless.
It's technically a "young adult" title, but like all good YA, there's a great deal of subtlety in the execution and sharp behavioral observation that should interest older readers as well.
I stand with Stephen Colbert. β€
Remember when BARBIE came out and there were months of online discourse about it and then you went and saw BARBIE and it was an excellent, funny, well-made film?
SUPERMAN is an excellent, funny, well-made film.

Looks like it's by Rudy Nebres w/ a bolt of Starlin.

Fun fact: The original Silver Age Legion stories were set in the "distant future" of the 21st Century. (I could use that "futuristic" Autograph Pen myself at convention!)

Where previous Superman films have struggled to make the case for his exceptionality, the latest rendition of the hero finds a deft solution: It makes him just another guy in a cape. David Sims writes: https://theatln.tc/3U7Ymb3q

Idk but theres 2 Guardians in bottom left.
that Thor reminds me of the few times Adams gave us a gander at his take on divinity like his Natl Lampoon blasphemy;)
Ka na la jerama! sounds like a lyric for Poker Face
Did he do anything w/ Ralph Reese who had a similar complimentary style?
Wait til you see her in the Egg & I w/ first appearance of the Kettle clan and Fred MacMurray doing an early Oliver Douglas
I think I was too old to appreciate Thundar which seemed like Herculoids & they didn't mention Kirby's involvement. I have some JQ DVDs & put up a challenge months ago to choose a better episode than the 5 I picked. I thought the BR was a digest of the comicbook stories that Wildey drew in the 80s
