UBC might make sense to folks in socialist nations.
But in the US, peopleβs self and societal worth and identity are wrapped up in oneβs work. And so much money has been spent making βhandoutsβ a toxic concept.

Often we point towards high or unprecedented GDP growth with AI.
How that wealth would be distributed?

Another popular theme for enthusiasts is the single person billion dollar company⦠i.e. single earner (that would have required many people traditionally).
If an individual can donate $130 million to specifically fund the militaryβ¦
Isnβt that person in some way buying the military?
But they really nailed the constipation walk.
Kind of amazed they were proud enough of this video to put it out.
None of them look like the original person or even each other.
Is it just me or does this Google Photos GenAI promoted example feel like it kept the guy relatively similar but distorted the woman into many disparate βidealizedβ females.
OOOOOOOOOK,
you got me thinking...
Iβm pretty sure thatβs just a picture of a bird.

Like how it works under the hood? Or why youβd use it?
Havenβt you used enums in other languages?
*User Friendly* lays out the history of designing solutions to real people's problems, and how it evolved into designing towards addiction.
"User" is unfortunately too apt a moniker here.

character.ai is arguing that itβs chat bots should be treated like humans by extending them first amendment protections
Wellllllllllllllll this is an interesting debate for the future...
But for the moment, THIS MOMENT, couldn't we focus on getting #humanrights for *actual humans?*
βBut you have to ask: What is the problem thatβs being solved?β
A private company could turn off the payments to and from anyone, at will, right?
So the problem is "not having total control of every penny."
It seems like furry fan fic is deeply buried in the DNA of bsky
But quite probably missed something somewhere.
Thanks for being on top of this shit (especially as its odor grows day by dayπ

Ah, I only heard the recent Adam Satariano discussion where the "consolidation of power" topic focused more on the on/off switch.
I see a lot about free speech/MSM in the Patel interview but not processing the entire world's comms data at scale (increasingly as SL eats provider market share).
I imagine that many of your listeners would be curious what that could mean, and if encrypted services liked Signal / VPNs would increase privacy (and to what degree).
@caseynewton.bsky.social @kevinroose.com Why didn't you discuss how #Starlink may use all the data passing through their network?
Turning access on/off for a military is a glaring power... buy so is the constant flow of private data running through their servers.
π€ Curious if his *ENTIRE AUDIENCE, Especially those laughing and applauding realized the question also applied to them.

And also, when I see Rive demos that try to replicate browser behavior (e.g. a scrollable list of accordions with vital info), we encourage experiences that arenβt #accessibleβ¦ trapped info.
Consider showing how such things fall back to an inclusive experience.
Fan here (and introducing Rive into Khan Academyβs pipeline)
As a learning concept, itβs good.
But folks shouldnβt be encouraged to do this in real apps.
Using a real map embed brings rich functionality, #a11y considerations... etc.
Looks are wonderful, but not at the expense of vital utility.
Omg yes.

Beyond grappling with the powers of the agent platform, this was an opportunity to:
- dive deeper into #a11y on the web,
- and dig into platforms like @langchain.bsky.social #Langsmith for debugging
- @rive.app for some (super kawaii) embellishments!
I'd love to hear what excites you :) βοΈ
