The lack of recognition by European governments that the US is a terrorist state, and most definitely not an ally, is astounding. The EU doesn’t need the US. It has stronger economic fundamentals and can replace anything it currently gets from them elsewhere, or through homegrown investment.
If that isn't a rallying call for every EU country to start the below steps, they are asleep at the wheel.
1) Expedite energy transition to renewables
2) Begin transition away from reliance on US tech giants & build up local capacity
3) Regulate the free reign of influence of US social media

Having grown up in South Bend, I can testify that anything 20 miles south of the border with Michigan is absolutely culturally aligned with the South.
