Trump has consistently demonstrated that his mind can be changed and his attention can shift. If that happens here and he half-arses a deal, that could be a considerably more dangerous place long-term for everyone in the region and elsewhere. So let’s hope he has a proper plan.
It would be nice if, during this period, we could all accept that multiple things can be true at the same time and things are not binary. The world is now extremely unstable. In the long-run we may see positive regime change. But we may also not – especially if Trump gets bored.
I am getting a bit bored of people being so intellectually dishonest. There are totally legitimate arguments to take out the Iranian regime’s leadership, of course. But it doesn’t automatically make the world a safer place, that requires a plan that it’s unclear Trump has atm.
