In Gaza, Israel and Biden normalized war crimes beyond anything we have seen before.
And now, Israel and Trump are using that model against Iranian civilians.
At least 13 hospitals and health facilities hit during attacks on Iran, WHO says
www.theguardian.com/global-devel...
Remember all those annoying people like me who kept chirping up when hospitals were targeted in Gaza, saying that if we let it happen there it would become the new normal from now onβ¦
Can verify
Thereβs so much I agree with in this piece by @davekarpf.bsky.social and I love this: The best thing a researcher can do right now is focus on βWhat questions do I actually want to answer?β Then do the work of ANSWERING IT.β and, if AI is a better social scientist than you,
yikes π¬
This Mercury retrograde is brutal, bleargh
Loll like itβs insulting to the Honest Apple Peacetrains out there
I grew up in Wyoming! There were no Markwaynes!
lolll
Even autocorrect is like- surely you mean Mark Wayne
Markwayne is not a name.
Iβm so tired of seeing people bash Bluesky for being an echo chamber when X is an actual intentionally constructed echo chamber that is demonstrably radicalizing people across the political spectrum who still use it
And go read this excellent book by @jmijin.bsky.social providing a complementary framework for a just transition from fossil fuels!
Thank you!!
EG with shots fired π
@gruberte.bsky.social
One of the best people i know, @gruberte.bsky.social came on this podcast to talk about the work she is doing with two of the other best people i know, @jmijin.bsky.social and @jlappen1.bsky.social.
One big takeaway for me is this...
Thank you so much for this honor! All thanks to the wonderful organizers in Philly who let me document these struggles and approach to educational justice in the city!
When you're having an affair but you're also under oath lollllllllllllllll
I am!!!! Are you?? Let's hanggggg
also: there is no shortcut to doing the work. You want to use an LLM to do a literature review? Ok, but then how do _you_ understand the literature? How do you know what your contribution will be? How will you know what you're building on? Scholarship is not built on tl:dr, sorry to inform.
me too!! Come out to Cali!!!!
At this point, all these "AI is inevitable and awesome, get with it," people must have a dunk kink. The more you want me to like it without a real reckoning with the environmental and human cost, the more I'm going to think you're a tech shill πΊ
Also, this is Bluesky. Go lurk on twitter or wherever
Ahhh!!! You're such a rockstar!! Congratulations!!!
Apartheid state but not committing a genocide. Ok, Gavin.
Saw a thoughtful thread about AI, don't want to QT or argue. But. The biggest rage factor with LLMs is the people who, because genAI is transformative for coding, think it's transformative for everything else, because they devalue every other form of work and labor and knowledge.
The day after your migraine leaves is absolutely the best feeling
We are going to win.
The world is so terrible Iβm watching Suddenly Amish just to feel something
It's a question of understanding how to reach people where they are at. Maybe people are not talking about degrees celsius, GHG, emissions, etc. But, it is not far from, "I hate my utility and my bills are high," to, "more renewables and different ownership structures would be good for me."
