It does a good job of exploring a society dedicated to the doctrine of minimal force and its response to a massive military threat. Good story overall, interesting in many of the ways books like LeGuin's "Left Hand of Darkness" and Brin's "Glory Season" with their engineered societies are.

I don't for one moment believe the 2024 ballot count was not tampered with, both indirectly through voter suppression and directly through less-than-accurate counts of collected votes. Bit of a moot point, though, since Congress went and certified the results despite numerous anomalies in the count.

Colbert's contract is up in May and CBS elected not to renew it ages ago under pressure from Trump's FCC...so he has absolutely nothing to lose at this point beyond possibly two month's pay. I'm betting he already has a deal in place to head up a cable or streaming show pretty much immediately.
