Being sober is a form of protest.

Being empathetic is a form of protest.
Being critical of information put out by private corporations that call themselves news outlets is a form of protest.

I am sober 16 months now. I work in the alcohol industry. And that is why I am sober. I can't say more than that for now, but trust me when I say I will one day. I applaud everyone who is sticking to Dry January and beyond.

Something they don't tell you about losing a loved one:

Some nicknames, you earn in life, some you're born with and given by family out of family love. What they don't warn you about is how it feels to realize after a loved one passes that no one will ever call you by their nickname for you again.

The argument over whether or not Elon did a Nazi salute is a red herring. Regardless of his intention, without a blatant and loud response from him and government that that is not okay, it bolsters Nazis and supporters. Period.

I suppose it's worth announcing... I've started writing my memoir. Finally. Long overdue. This past year rattled my brain against my skull enough to shake some things loose and scare me into making sure I hold onto what's left of my memories. I'm excited to share my stories. I have some good ones.

My grandpa passed yesterday. His wife, my grandma originally got me into painting. She passed in 2015. Now they're both gone. They were two of the last people to see me and love me conditionally.
