Skyla's books are full of female rage and found family and are just magical! If you need something to read that's supernatural horror, thriller, urban fantasy, or mystery, she has you covered! I truly cannot say enough good things about her books.

My favorite Bob Kane story:
Hmmm, I was going to suggest re-publishing it directly on Kobo, who also distributes to Overdrive (which may not solve the problem). Kobo's customer service is a lot better (in my experience, anyhow). This whole situation sucks, I'm sorry you're having to put up with this baloney.
Are you direct with overdrive?
Re-upping for the morning crowd (because I posted this quite late yesterday):
Overdue remainder of March's rent is due tomorrow (when grace period ends). Couple of options for helping in RPed thread.
(It's mostly hiring me for something while I catch up on existing work.)
In the heat of the harsh desertβexpressed through the yellows of a warm paletteβa man and woman take refuge as a pair of dragons with wings flared claw and snarl at each other. The Dragon Prince extends one arm against rust colored rock for support. While his features are chiseled and his expression stoic, the set of his eyes reflect thoughts turned inward. His free hand grips his sword held low as the princess, with eyes pressed shut, leans close in a moment of vulnerability as they've just escaped from a harrowing experience.

I don't know how to explain this but Casablanca is a movie for adults.
There are lots of movies built on an element of fantasy about being young or brave or defying the odds.
Casablanca is not that. Everyone in that movie has back pain and they have all just accepted it.

this is what it feels like to post on bluesky
Charles Addamsβ quite brilliant cover for July 17th 1954βs The New Yorker.

As of today, confirmed that the two invoiced payments I'm waiting on will arrive too late to cover remaining overdue March rent ($500 CAD, due by/on 03/07 - the end of my rent's grace period).
Been so busy, just fell behind on seeking alternatives. But I'm in a bind, so ways to help, a short π§΅:
Why βͺ@why.bsky.teamβ¬ Until December of last year I was using LLMs as fancy autocomplete for coding. It was nice for scaffolding out boilerplate, or giving me a gut check on some things, or banging out some boring routine stuff. In the past two months Claude has written about 99% of my code. Things are changing. Fast
in case you ever wondered why bsky breaks all the fuckin time and is increasingly a pile of jank

This is Aly. She just learned about capitalism. Certainly not a perfect system, but if that is what it takes to put chippies on the table, she understands. 13/10 (IG: alythebichon)
We said "more low stakes fantasy!" and publishing gave us conflict-free cozies. But what *I* personally meant was, instead of saving THE WORLD from A GREAT EVIL, the character maybe saves their forest or their lil tavern or whatever. The idea that low stakes = no stakes is such a weird development
I love their video game noises. π
A man asked me last night what publishing needs to do for literary fiction to begin appealing to men again. I said, as nicely as I could, that, with over 2,000 books published every Tuesday, of which many would appeal to men, itβs not a publishing problem, itβs a men problem.
Shoutout to this white horse who decided to have a roll in the middle of the Stella McCartney runway show
βPioneerβ is the word: lesbian heroine Sylvia Townsend Warner wrote 7 utterly distinct novels which you probably donβt know since they are all so different to each other, 150 short stories, a history of Tudor church music and much else. Her (umpteen) letters are fascinating.
Please repost to help.
Last day! This anthology looks so cool.

This is Frankie. She just got a fancy new puffer and thinks sheβs better than everyone now. And she is correct. 13/10 (IG: frankielasaucisse)
βThere is still some good in the world, Mr. Frodo.β
Folks, you may know that I am partial to guinea pigs. AARCS has taken in 50 guinea pig rescues, who all need to be tested & treated for ringworm. If you can chip in a buck or two, it would be greatly appreciated. care.aarcs.ca/participant/...
