Ngl, I’m starting to worry about catastrophic technical failure of twitter.

Part of why I made an account here; I’m noticing the slow but steady breakdown of the site in real time.

Well, that got sharply more depressing than delusional. But also explains a lot.

Turns out my cynicism was too optimistic.

Yea. I have no idea WHY he thinks he can win lol. Dubious he does either by the sounds of it.

I don’t think he believes anything beyond the fact that he can win. Qualification has little to do with it.

But I’m always drawn to novelty— established is rarely as interesting as emergent.

As for cults, they were the rule for all of human history. We have recently adopted hyper-individualism , but I don’t think anyone bothered to check with human nature.

I agree that it’s not viable to have a social network without civility.

It’s just that I also think that the pretence of “we can all talk it out” that is, coexist in mutual respect, isn’t true.

Networks self moderate. That’s good. And ok. But this phenomenon isn’t partisan, it’s sociological.

My only principle is that I be honest with myself. Not pessimistic, optimistic, or skeptical—honest. Reality is.

Ethics and morality are intrinsically aspirational; that is their greatest strength.

Idealism is my compass for spiritual reflection—the mechanics of reality, the footsteps.

Nobody, independent of politics, has the capacity to keep things civil when it is about core principles of social order.

Civility is contingent on shared context. To suggest otherwise is delusional.

Let’s be honest about what civility is: lubricant.

Social dialectics resolve through conflict.
