Happened to me last night. I let loose on a family member who called their tattooed, non-binary adult child “weird.” FM had never even seen the Kansas story. FM also said it was all a difference of opinion. Sigh.

lol my concern with research that only surveys white college students and makes broad conclusions is that not everyone thinks or acts like white college-educated people. DUH!
They think we’re the ones who aren’t sharing values. It is always turned back against us.
I lost my cool with a family member last night who hadn’t heard of the Kansas law & said their rationale is that we have to have a way to know someone is who they say they are. This after calling their own child “weird” because they present as non-binary. It‘s a tangled web, for sure.

It wasn't "cancel culture" when women and people of color got used up, silenced, and dismissed before their careers even began. It only became "cancel culture" when powerful abusers started having established careers momentarily inconvenienced by revelations of what they'd done.

My dad‘s father was a diplomat from Germany to Mexico. He got the family out in 1936. Hitler let them go. My dad was three. They fled to Canada and then to Los Angeles, where they lived on the beach for a time. Had three more kids. My Oma remembered the beach with much fondness.
