STATEMENT ON ICE SHOOTING OF ALEX PRETTI After another gruesome act of fatal violence by federal agents on the streets of Minneapolis, all Americans must demand that the Trump Administration end its deadly, unlawful, and unconstitutional occupation of the Twin Cities. The ongoing invasion of our cities by a dangerous and out-of-control federal administration must be stopped. This week, the City of Boston led 44 cities around the country in supporting the federal lawsuit to end the illegal ICE surge in Minnesota. Our hearts are with Alex Pretti's loved ones and the people of Minnesota and we share their grief. While we mourn once again a tragic and needless death, we urge the court to take immediate action to stop the violence, end the occupation, and help local leaders in the Twin Cities restore peace to these communities under siege. MAYOR MICHELLE WU
The ongoing invasion of our cities by a dangerous and out-of-control federal administration must be stopped.
He was an American hero, an ICU nurse at the V.A. He was murdered in cold blood in broad daylight on the streets of the city where he lived. He was executed by the paramilitary force created by our totalitarian government.
Iβm sorry, so sorry
Trump is coming after all of us. All of us who oppose his tyranny and brutality. All of us who defy his dictatorship. All of us who seek accountability and challenge his murderous goons.
All across America we must rise up against this oppression, as peacefully but as definitively as we can.
Alex Pretti was trying to protect a woman who was pepper sprayed by Trumpβs paramilitary force. These goons seem to think Americans no longer have the rights enshrined in the First and Second Amendments.
Alex Pretti should be alive. Renee Good should be alive.
ICE, LEAVE MINNESOTA ALONE!
A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!
FBI leadership coverup of Renee Good killing.
A supervisor in FBIβs Minneapolis field office resigned "after bureau leadership in Washington pressured her to discontinue a civil rights inquiry into" ICE agent Jonathan Ross. "Such inquiries are a common investigative step in similar shootings."
Minnesota is the best of us.
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

PSA: Examples of a judicial warrant and an administrative warrant. ICE cannot enter your home with only an administrative warrant.
Amazing turnout today across the country! We just wanted to say thank you, you all are incredible!
Renee Nicole Good should be alive.
An accountable government would take responsibility, apologize, be present with the family.
Instead, the regime keeps perpetuating cruelty, criminality, and corruption. They should have never been trusted to lead. It hurts to watch.
ICE out of our cities now!
30 Rock "What a week" meme: "What a year, huh?" "Lemon, it's January 3rd."
A tweet from the International Trade Union Confederation that says: Venezuela π»πͺ: @ituc and @CSA_TUCA strongly condemn the US military aggression against Venezuela and the violation of its sovereignty. We call for respect for the Venezuelan peopleβs right to self-determination, the immediate release of all those detained, and a return to peaceful and democratic dialogue. Peace and international law must prevail.
We join the international labor community in condemning President Trumpβs unconstitutional actions in Venezuela.

Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation.
I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.
I recommend @bbcnewsuk.bsky.social as a more trustworthy source than US media right now.
The aggression against Venezuela may be carried out in our names but we oppose it. This US regime is increasingly horrifying. Itβs sad to see this country sink deeper and deeper into lawlessness.
I hold out hope that the people can wrestle back our government from oligarchs and their henchmen.
We have been knowing where they stand, wake up. π€¦π»ββοΈ
βDSA stands with working people as democrats sell out to the rightβ
DSA stands in absolute opposition to the proposed deal to pass Trump's billionaire budget. Healthcare is a right, not a bargaining chip.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. Itβs about peopleβs lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
These 8 Dems have betrayed our country, our people & our party. They voted with Republicans to hurt Americans. Shame. It was all for nothing. Dick Durbin - IL Maggie Hassan - N.H. Angus King - ME Jacky Rosen - NV Catherine Cortez Masto - NV Tim Kaine - VA Jeanne Shaheen - N.H. John Fetterman - PA
The @democrats.org Party is an embarrassment. With healthcare premiums to shooting up, we will soon be seeing people having to choose between health, housing, or foodβ¦ Iβm disgusted.
Congratulations NYC!
He said it well: βIf we do not have the ability to criticize, mock, investigate our leaders, then we are no longer the United States of America.β - @jaketapper.bsky.social
Be brave and fight.
If media wonβt defend the first amendment, if lawyers donβt defend the right to due process, if each one of us doesnβt push back from our own trench, what liberties will we lose next?
Networks please fight. You have the Constitution on your side. Donβt cower or comply in advance. Youβre one of the lines of defense against our descent into authoritarianism.
The right to speak our minds and to disagree with each other - to disturb, even - is at the very heart of what it means to be a free people. It is not to be denied. Not by violence, not by the abuse of governmental power, nor by acts of corporate cowardice. As a Guild, we stand united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent. If free speech applied only to ideas we like, we needn't have bothered to write it into the Constitution. What we have signed on to - painful as it may be at times - is the freeing agreement to disagree. Shame on those in government who forget this founding truth. As for our employers, our words have made you rich. Silencing us impoverishes the whole world. The WA stands with Jimmy Kimmel and his writers.
WGA Statement on ABCβs Decision to Pull Jimmy Kimmel Live!
"Letβs be clear about what just happened: Jimmy Kimmel, a prominent late-night comedian, was just taken off the airwaves because the Trump administration didnβt like what he had to say β and threatened his employer until they shut him up."
