We have published very moving poem written by Shelagh Sheldrick, who is on our Families Panel. It describes the feelings of so many traumatically bereaved families who try to get services to learn and improve. Take a look www.makingfamiliescount.org.uk/2026/01/22/w...

Making Sense after Suicide:living with blame, uncertainty, and the need for answers. You are not alone

Suicide bereavement is often accompanied by profound uncertainty, self-blame, and silence โ€” yet these experiences are rarely spoken about openly.
Making Sense After a Suicide is a new resource developed to support people bereaved by suicide.

Family Carers Masterclass Series

Listened to more harrowing stories from traumatically bereaved families last night. The endurance required to persevere to get organisations to learn and improve is awe inspiring. We offer training in working with families as partners in care:

Incredibly powerful and moving event for families last night. Desperate that families are re-traumatised by the processes of trying to find out what happened to their loved one following a traumatic bereavement. The courage, determination and resilience people demonstrate is extraordinary.

Moved by this evening's event for families. Thanks to those who attended, shared our trauma and pain and reflected together on the changes Making Families Count should champion. Families know our loved ones best of all. We must be partners in their care, and in the learning if things go wrong.

Can you help? We urgently need funds to provide peer support to families who have been traumatically bereaved and to enable those families to work with the NHS to learn from tragedies to provide more compassionate and safer care. Thank you.

Thank you. My grandparents could not get visas to the UK when they had to flee Czechoslovakia. They paid ยฃ1000 per person in 1939 to the British in order to flee to Palestine. My aunt, was, at 17, too old to be on the family visa and came here to train as a nurse. Where should we be deported?

Use another language! That worked with our dog where we could not say WALK but could say caminar, and we could not say chicken but Pollo was fine.

Fair enough but tbh this has been going on for well over 2 years so I'm not persuaded that is the issue for all the women who do it!

In my pool we have women who WALK halfway up the slow lane. Imo they should be banned. We also have MEN WHO MAY NOT BE OVERTAKEN. FFS!!!
