Here’s what I’ve seen: Instead of putting enough effort on process excellence or performance management, business leaders will turn to the tech team; “Why can’t we have a feature for this?” So your product starts solving the wrong problems. And the tech team spends more time on low value things 2/2
Thinking a lot about product management of internal tools & software lately: Once you replace off-the-shelve with own solutions there is an inherent risk of becoming too custom, not only in your product but everywhere. Without a strong product function you will build up too much complexity 1/2
