What there is no TORG GURPS already?
What there is no TORG GURPS already?
A great setting, be interesting to see how you find YZE as a mystery game engine. Just be aware that a bit like Alien the PCs might not want to have a fight with a Vaesen, unless prepared and knowing how best to tackle it.
Money and pockets with small fires await
Is it a dawwggg?
I can only apologise, save vs facts ;)
So you assume modules and writers test for that? Because I am not sure many do, even if writing for Dragons lurking in Dungeons. I think they are more likely to test core mechanics over creative spell application.
But it is a sound idea to consider such shenanigans for writing up an adventure.
Love it l, will have a good read later
I used it for 0e DnD and other games.
....but then I don't believe rpg systems are as well playtested as some people assume. Even DnD with 50 years of play is probably not fully tested.
So what do people expect as "good enough" testing?
I agree it is a bit shocking. I think most products have some level of testing. Some more than others and to a good degree.
System less, as you say, can require more testing as you are checking the adventure and various potential systems all at once
People who I think have done well respected adventures that can be considered system less or at least minimal fuss to port to any system;

Back in the day it was daily, that shop is now closed and then I moved away. More recently once a week, but I moved away about 5 years ago.
In the past year? Not once..all online.
To be fair I tend to hack adventures to suit the game rules I desire running.
I also wrote an adventure that has run with Alien, Mothership, Death in Space. The official released version is for my own game "Order 666" (a Sanction Genre setup). I also have a Mythos adventure.
Define good? I am struggling to recall an awesome specific title right now, I shall ponder.
Also some systemless/agnostic stuff to consider;
Thieves World
Flying Buffalo City Books
Many OSR adventures are easy to port
Games Workshop Dungeon Planner (frpg suitable)
Also see Mythos adventures
A system agnostic scenario is a great thing. It allows you to use a great setup with your rules of choice. However, it does need to be genre specific and tested with at least one system.
This thread may fall into the system vs story camp of debate

I love seeing write ups like this and I'm still amazed at how many people Signal to Noise has reached given it started as a project to distract myself with during lockdown.
I enjoyed the read, my favourite version of the game is the original 1e VtM
A superb system, I hope to do something with it now that it is "out out"
Want to take a look at this as I hear great things
A fun game, can play online or even via post/email
On my read pile
Tis but a flesh wound
Wonder if it is going with the roll high 2d12 engine, like the updated Colonial Gothic and the frpg: Sword, Spell & Shadow (both of which I discovered this weekend)
I neglected to mention Thousand Suns, very Traveller ish but 2d12 roll low
A legacy that should never have died...rip Citadel you were once great
I recommend Liminal and Gangbusters. But all look great
Embrace change and profit
Roll for bravery
Just think of the import duty and the risk of it being cut open and damaged by some customs chud.
True story, mint ADnD module ruined by Customs cutting open envelope with what must have been a bowie knife!
