It was an honor to judge Gulf Coast Journal’s 2025 Barthelme Prize; there were so many great submissions. Congrats to Christopher Notarnicola‘s winning piece “Bring to Mind the Mouth” and to the Honorable Mentions: “Rent” by Bradley Trumpfeller and “Third Mother” by Lisa Harris.
