The most🀬part of the UK PR firm that has made-up it's own GivetoGain theme for #IWD2026 is that they actively tell their audience to support non-profits and give without saying they are a for-profit private corporation selling themed goods with no charitable donations on it's accounts for 10 years.

It's the morning of IWD, and I've had 92 nominations so far, from 9 countries.

I've replied to each of the 24 that have posted about IWD. eg: www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

Keeping an eye on the others. Keep the nominations coming. Keep an eye on the comments.

My life was utterly transformed the day I asked my cleaner to change the linen for an extra half hour’s money but even then we only do fortnightly #skanky

I was on a forum in the 00s where frequency of towel washing was such a contentious subject that even now, 20 years later, friends from that era use it as a short cut for β€œmassive argument out of nothing”

If you're successful there might be more available: "Subject to a stage gate review the successful awardee will receive up to Β£32 million extending the investment to a six year programme."

There’s more to add in - you use the charge speed differently in different situations eg slow chargers for overnight and fast chargers for on the go. Approach is different to petrol - don’t always charge full to empty and often charge when you stop rather than stop to charge. Complex equations!

I am obvs too old for any of what’s going on at #TheBrits but I am very much enjoying the commentary from my teens.

Not now NYT, I don't think I have capacity for a whole new crossword.

I’m British. Mostly English, with some traces of Scottish and Transylvanian in my history, but zero American. I was being a bit ironic, comparing the gentle Scots shouting with the raucous Canadian shouting. In fun.

I don’t know but the Canadian team are shouting instructions at each other very loudly and it’s terribly uncouth.

I think parental restriction is fine for those who have parents who are able to do this. Suspect there are a group whose parents can’t/won’t for whatever reason and they are probs also most vulnerable. Though still not convinced this is the right solution for all the other reasons you say.

Yeah not sure why I didn’t go to I
JL first because they’re at the other end of the shopping centre (and nothing bad ever happens in JL). Or maybe I did and they didn’t have stuff in the right size (H cups are limited….)

Yes looking that way. But so far very gentle and real realism

We inhaled two episodes tonight. It’s not detectorists but there’s a definite style that you’ll recognise.

I had heard it and had mostly avoided them as a result but there were limited places that stocked mat stuff in store at that point. It cemented my view that it’s bravissimo or nothing even if that means trekking to Bath or London.

10.02.2026 21:55 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Right. And yet they make a big thing of needing to fit you. As you can tell I am still cross 18 years later πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

10.02.2026 21:14 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I once cried in an M&S fitting room because the bra fitter refused to sell me an underwired bra because I was pregnant. The only alternative was so high and frumpy I couldn't wear a v neck. I had all the evidence that it's OK if well fitting (am BFC) but informed consent counted for nothing 😭

10.02.2026 17:21 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I think the right sizing is essential - most women are in too big a back size and too small a cup size. M&S measuring service remains bad for this!

10.02.2026 16:48 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Whereas for me, underwires are v comfortable and I find it hard to find supportive non underwire. My shoulders can't cope with crop top styles. But agree that the general principle of poor design, limited choice and archaic sizing and "fitting" is infuriating.
