52. All pale people are phlegmatic; No one, who is not pale, looks poetical. -Lewis Carroll, from The Game of Logic
Never want to see snow again.
The novella begins with counting and flattening, abuse and allure; the mesh is introduced when fleshy bodies are flattened into evaluative grids, diagrammatically parsed, mathematical myths. πΈ: Grid/Monk's Belt weaving by me.
Lately, I've reassumed the personality of Cayley, the protagonist in my novella. Named after Arthur Cayley, a British mathematician regarded as the founder of modern matrix theory, my novella is full of puzzles & mathematical nonsense, topological tomfoolery.
Writing toward my end.
Imagine starting your day literally catching fire. That just happened to me while cooking.
Remember when everyone lost their minds over Hilma af Klint?
It officially exists! In real life! And I can hold it with my hands!
Which means no one can make me work on revising this book anymore! And also that you can get physical copies!

Look, earlier at the Walgreens, a woman told me a toilet paper roll turned the wrong direction in a pack is a bad omen. I will never forget this day.
Currently inside of the crack.

This conversation slayed!
Sometimes we produce out worst work when we're thinking too much about how we want it to be our best.
Working on replacing art historian with shepherd.
Though Iβm becoming less engaged w/ digital humanitiesβfocusing more on decentering technologyβIβd still love to use Suzanne Treisterβs Hexen 5.0: Queen of Pentacles in a DH course cross-listed w/ art history, especially one centered on networks.
I've been writing maps on sensation, thinking about the schematic as a structure of desire, riding the saddle-shape plane of a hyperbolic paraboloid.

The schematic or diagrammatic is seen throughout this series primarily as a structure of desire, a process of deformation, a reconfigurable structure that serves as an organizing principle, theoretical device, & topological figure.

It's precisely my constructive & critical philosophical engagement w/ art historical practices that lends itself to raising crucial, speculative questions, maintaining a lucidity about what is not known, & whetherβeven in the disciplineβs esoteric turnβit's refusing to give up conventional beliefs.
Thinking on vegetal instructions for spiritual evolution, ghostly vegetal subjectivities, &/or plants as beings w/ their own subjectivity, my parafloral workβboth speculative & historicalβengages w/ a complex set of phenomena.
While conducting research on the absent parafloral history of Spiritualism this morn, I happened upon a 1929 photograph of Annie Besant in a garden. I couldnβt help but be taken by her robe, vines outlining her body like an aura, ascending from vegetal motifs reminiscent of the tree of life.
Two images of colourful woven pieces, both with distinct patterning, the first has a symmetrical design with lines and diamond motifs, the other has a more fluid style with waves and arcs
