She’s beautiful! My tortie also does not like thunderstorms. We actually use her as a rain indicator because she can sense it (by lowly shuffling away) usually within about 60 seconds of it starting.

(And even then, their original 50% wasn’t great, calling it a goofy letter with zero substance. It still doesn’t necessarily describe what the resource in the image is and isn’t as objective as it could/should have been.)
Yes, essentially they were 50% of the way there but ultimately that serves 0% function for a user who needs it. Somewhere, somehow, the text of the letter should have been included, whether via alt text, additional posts, or a linked resource. WCAG can be tricky!
A good rule of thumb is to follow W3C standards, IMO. Check out “complex images” under “length of the text alternative,” which covers what is being described in this post; in general, if the image has text, the alt text should include the text verbatim.
