I was shocked when a midwife in Oxford told me stories of sewage dripping through the ceilings at the hospital and into the maternity unit.
Whilst staff at the hospital do their upmost to provide the best care for patients, they can only do so if supported with extra funding from the Government.
White man in grey suit and yellow tie makes speech in parliament.there is another man sitting on the green bench behind him.
MP for Henley and Thame, Freddie van Mierlo has tabled an amendment to the Government’s Planning and Infrastructure Bill to expedite active travel projects. This would update guidance on Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) for active travel schemes (walking and cycling routes) in the public interest.
Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy.
This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.
I am very sorry to hear about the closure of Henley Swim, an organisation who have been running events on the Thames for over 20 years.
Thames Water must get on and urgently improve the health of our rivers!
This was a photo from last year with Tom Kean, organiser of Henley swim events
Amazing. Yes, that’s definitely the message that has produced victories for centre-left parties over the last week
Alt-Txt: Two people stand before multi-color strips of paper with text on them that stretch down an entire wall and onto the floor. The title of the installation "I Agree" appear in all caps on the wall, too.
Love this. In his “I Agree” installation Dima Yarovinsky-Yahel took the content from terms of service statements for companies like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Tinder and printed them out on A4 paper with a standard font size for legal contracts to demonstrate the length of these agreements.
the five Lib Dem MPs stand behind a flag of Oxfordshire on the balcony of the place of Westminster. The Thames and the London Eye are in the background
Oxfordshire's Lib Dem MPs have called for the Government to urgently protect the county's pharmaceutical industry from US tariffs, following reports that the Government is working to prevent new tariffs being imposed on pharmaceutical imports.
I am the first MP to be refused entry on arrival to Hong Kong since 1997.
Authorities gave me no explanation for this cruel and upsetting blow.
I hope the Foreign Secretary will recognise that this is an insult to all parliamentarians and seek answers from the Chinese Ambassador.
I visited Lucy Electric in Thame who are a local employer, manufacturing key components for our electricity grid & leading in the transition away from the use of greenhouse gasses.
The government need to provide a clear direction of travel & certainty to allow companies like Lucy electric to thrive
Blind people set to lose thousands in benefits still cannot read details of Labour’s welfare reform plans
It was great to visit the Oxford Mini Plant today who are such an important employer in Oxfordshire!
It’s important that the plant fulfils its potential to deliver on a net zero economy.
The Government needs to provides as much certainty as possible and remove trade barriers created by Brexit!
Just a reminder...
I visited the Citizens Advice Bureau in Thame last week where we discussed the fact that National Insurance increases is putting pressure on the ability to deliver services, the cost of living and funding for them is reliant on fundraising and charitable donations

British troops have fought and died alongside the Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq, just to be written off as non-existent people from "some random country". We have to maintain tolerable relations with this administration to try and minimise damage, but my god it's not easy.
This is thuggery from Trump and Vance, plain and simple.
They are bullying the brave true patriot Zelensky into accepting a deal which effectively hands victory to Russia. Unless the UK and Europe step up, we are facing a betrayal of Ukraine.
This is the sort of thing which apparently scares conservative Americans.
Freckleface Strawberry.
A book about a girl with freckles ..
How utterly, utterly pathetic. 😡
(On a ban/suspension list pending review to see if it complies with US Oligarchy censorship rules .. )

I want to tell you a story. In 2015, I was in the small Lithuanian city of Panevežys, standing with the locals, watching a military parade. But this was no ordinary parade, because marching alongside the Lithuanian troops were our American allies.🧵1/17

I recently met with Chiltern Railways at Haddenham and Thame Parkway to discuss the ongoing issue of overcrowding on services and to request improvements to the station

And once again, a pollster has leader ratings that give Ed Davey the best score... and the text of the social media message doesn't mention it.
'The American state has been captured by a group of people who do not see the world as we do, who are hostile to the world as we want it to be. We must see them for what they are to their credit they don’t pretend to be anything else. To our discredit we lie to ourselves that they do'. Excellent.

Yet here we are."

Fabulous news bc a safe cycling and walking route from Thame to our station will make active travel so much easier (its only 2 miles btw)
