Are there kids or animals in the building? If not, 1. If so, 5. 😂

Do they not still teach folks not to say things they wouldn’t want in the WSJ? I swear that was the go to for years back when I was working in highly regulated financial firms.
Long line to get in to the meeting about additional bike lanes.
Yes! The Senior Center could hold maybe 100? So there was a long slow line to basically get in, snake through various tables to see all the proposed changes, talk to CDOT folks, and walk out. Seemed like lots of support with a few car brained people sprinkled in?
The discourse on these bikes, and traveling with anything less than at least a one year old, between Europe and the US is…exactly what you’d think. 😂
I think some are even afraid to even ask for advice it’s so bad. But this is awesome! 🚲
I used to be neighbors with this dude. I moved away and now I just get jump scares in my feed. 😂
Oooh. Had forgotten about THAT Baldwin.
I booted up Windows (outside of a corporate environment) for the first time in ages, and it was wild. Ads and news and shopping stuff integrated all over the place. Game subscriptions! It was wild! 😂
I know people that don’t really appreciate when the AP et al call it. They definitely give me 😒 when I tell them Dave has seen enough. 😂
Pre-parent: we could solve our budget woes by issuing tickets to drivers texting while driving.
Parent: that PLUS ticketing folks parking outside schools during drop off.
But seriously, daylighting at intersections near schools would block so many from parking where they aren’t supposed to anyway.
Imagine getting paid CEO level money and your big idea is ‘let’s inorganically rebuild the thing that was wildly successful for us that we squandered entirely on our own’.
Genius!
Feels like when your manager/director (who have not been ICs for ages) hops into a conversation about a problem offering a solution.
Used to be they’d have to code it, now they hop into their LLM of choice and vibe. Either way they assure you the problem is easy and nearly solved.
But it isn’t.
Was fighting Claude a bit on some work I was trying to get done.
‘Oh, don’t worry about that, it’s not needed for a project this small’
‘Oh, but I’m a DevOps Engineer by trade…’
‘Ohhhh, ok, then all of this makes sense! Let’s do it!
AGI? 😂
It’s an oldie and a goodie! 😊
Any idea how far this dates back at this point? Back to the earliest days of emojis I’d guess?
This is a really weird data point, and I’m dating myself, but I pulled out my HS yearbook from 2002. There was a supplement at the end that which I do not remember being so ‘rah rah patriotism…rah rah we all supported the war’. I remember it extending into college and it was wild.
I’m also in his district and a neighbor invited us to a Miguel event. Then I started receiving the attack ads in the mail and I was confused because this neighbor wouldn’t promote the person Jaime is saying he is. I was indifferent on Jamie before but no longer.
Related. I’ve been skeptical of Scouting America (fka the Boy Scouts) for many reasons, even as friends involve their kids.
But until this week I didn’t realize just how large and successful the scouts to military pipeline was. 😳
Wait. So this basically is the Boy Scouts, right? Just under a rebrand/rename?
For me Durbin is on his way out, but I think about Duckworth’s vote and the praise she had for him and can’t help but be suspicious that she didn’t, or couldn’t, see him for what he was. Just wild to me.
2002-2007 for me. I’m sure this is all regional/major/greek specific in some ways, but it felt relentless when I was in undergrad.
I had no ‘reason’, not even family history. I just didn’t drink and people always wanted to know why.
I was the guy that brought red Gatorade to parties as my drink of choice. 😂
I often thought it might be easier to tell people I drank way too much in HS or had a relative that had a drinking problem because that might get people to stop asking why I didn’t drink. It was exhausting. 😞
As someone who more or less didn’t drink at all in college, I think I would have had a less depressing four years of if I figured this out.
Drinking just wasn’t appealing to me but everyone wanted to know why why why all the time.
Because Hootsuite is still working with ICE? And still a B Corp?
10000%. I was biking to work once when it started raining. I pulled over to get shelter, pulled up Dark Sky (intending to decide if I should keep going or turn back and hop on a train), and it said rain was stopping in three minutes.
It did. And I kept going. 🪄
I think about my dad melting bits of plastic to make repairs to things when I was a kid and how cool he’d find having one!
He’s not passed or anything, he might even have one, buuuut we haven’t talked in years because he wouldn’t, let’s say, approve of the purpose of these whistles… 😂 😭
Amazing how much you start thinking about your own ankles, and the ankles of others, as we get just a little bit older. 😂
Feels like a way to set up Bailey to seem ‘reasonable’ when he is anything but.
Is that lawsuit still pending?
Got the config updated to pull an API key from ENV and Claude started detecting the integration but I never got it past auth issues. Gave up for bit. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
