Authoritarianism 101 Daniel speaks with AHR editor Mark Bradley and consulting editor Laura McEnaney on how the A101 project came together and what teachers and students can expect.

New today from #HistoryInFocus: AHR launches a project called "Authoritarianism 101," which will provide history teachers and students multiple pathways into thinking about the history of a wide range of authoritarian regimes and contexts. @historians.org

Batman slapping Robin for suggesting that bikes should follow the same rules as cars

Seems to be a lot of confusion on social media lately.

Y’all are out there doing a great job commenting and debating with πŸš— 🧠.

Thanks and keep it up!

Love it, Kate. We have a variety of bikes, mostly non-electric. The ebike gets used mostly for hauling things like groceries, but I mostly commute on my road bike too. 😎🚴🏼

This! Ebikes are a far more effective way to make a more sustainable world than electric cars. Our family of FIVE drivers can get by just fine with just ONE car, in part, because we have an ebike with a large basket that essentially acts as our second carβ€”and for a fraction of the price!

If only the β€œAmerica is the best” crowd could truly understand this. I was raised that way, and it took me living in Europe for my 20s to fully realize how distorted that view is.

The Misuses of the University - Public Books Have the funds that might have trained the next generation of scholars at the nation’s first research university have been blown on ostentatious new buildings?

This is a pretty fierce piece of writing: observing the strange overbuilding & underfunding, bandwagon-hopping, donation-seeking, corporate remaking of elite universities.

The case study here is Hopkins, but almost the same could be written about some others.

β€˜Growing epidemic’: Bay Area teen’s 40-mph crash reveals overlooked dangers of e-bikes Crashes on e-bikes and illegal β€œe-motos” are causing alarm across the Bay Area. β€œThey think they’re buying anΒ e-bike when they’re not.”

I think the media understands the difference between e-bikes and illegal e-motos. They are intentionally conflating the difference between legal e-bikes and illegal e-motos to stoke fear and get clicks.

It's could destroy the e-bike revolution if we don't find a way to stop it.
