Being studio lead I have to haha.
Imagine being a backend engineer and you’re building systems for everyone to use while fixing and maintaining old ones so basically always debugging.
I always struggle explaining what I do to investors, it always goes over everyone’s head :(
I mean, I’d understand if it was Unity itself access to the mic, that’s an app we use to make stuff but there’s legit no excuse for unity hub to have any sort of access outside of installation.

And this is how it starts!
2 concerns I can think of:
- Most studios ask for Unity or Unreal experience, haven’t seen a single one asking for Godot yet.
- There are a greater number of engine features that Unity has and Godot doesn’t (according to these studios)
what’s your take on that?
If I may ask, what are your reasons for the switch?
First timer at GDC, but I’ve been hearing good things about Defold, I’m backend engineer but looking learn an engine (with C# support). Are you perhaps show casing the engine at GDC?
I’m in the same boat, lost but excited.
Also my first GDC experience, pretty hyped about it but also nervous! I’m excited to meet like minded people and chat about all things game dev.
