When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.

The front cover of A Pox on Fools: The True Believers, Grifters, and Cynics Who Convinced Us to Reject Vaccines." The cover shows a black circle with the title and the author's name (mine!) in white. The bottom right of the circle is indented, pushed by the needle of a pre-WW2 syringe, held in someone's left hand. In the space between the hand and the spine of the book, there's a blurb by geneticist, author, and broadcaster Adam Rutherford: "Brimming with righteous anger, this book should infuriate you for all the right reasons, and arm you to take on the grifters and their war against science."
With all the horrors around us, talking up a book seems...weird.
But I have a book coming and it is, I believe, an important one—one hope help persuade the vaccine hesitant (those who've heard the noise but aren't yet consumed by anti-vax BS).
Anyway, here's the latest iteration of the US cover:
Yeah I know. It's depressing
And 80 years later the US is still resisting the concept. 🙄
Wow.

Happy #ValentinesDay! 💌
In this #loveletter, James Pearse writes to Margaret Brady after calling “into your old shop” — but “no Maggie.” A simple, longing line that says it all. ❤️

Noted. The term is used quite a lot in some of my circles so I'll make sure to spell it Imbolg going forward as well.
If it's spelled both ways, are you dying on this hill because of how it's pronounced vs how it's written? Definitely an instance of how the complexities of Irish orthography is very confusing for people who have an interest in Ireland but not familiarity with the nuances of the language.

I simultaneously love and have a difficult time with fiber arts. Last Imbloc I was in Ireland, but sadly very late to the Brigid's Cross workshop I attended. I gave it another try. No reeds in this desert, so I used man-made materials. Pleased with the results & have the hang of it now.
Ireland's oldest wheel technology - carbon dated 400 BC - is on display in @nmireland.bsky.social but do you know it was found in 1969 by two brothers cutting turf in a Co Roscommon bog? Here's the story #LoveBogs #Spéirghorm #Ireland

I was pressured into trying AI for my job search and I went back to doing it myself because I am so much better at it.
Yay!!!
It really is such a great textbook. :)
Oh yay! I'm looking forward to watching it.
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.
Some of us Americans would rather skip this one. I'm so done with glossing over genocide and accepting propaganda. Highly recommend 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus. It tells what happened to Tisquantum - who Pilgrims called Squanto, and dispels many other assumptions.
