I'm preaching through Ezra-Nehemiah seeing Zerubbabel, Ezra and Nehemiah as cautionary tales of letting bias and fear undermine God's vision for us. Anyway, I preached about Ezra last week and missed the opportunity to encourage us all to be "Better than Ezra."
NEW: I spoke to clergy and faith leaders who've joined protests at the Chicago-area ICE facility.
Three say they've been shot with pepper balls, sometimes while praying.

I love this city so much.
I mean yes, there is such a concept in Christianity. It appears quite notably in the letters of Paul, for instance, where it’s a concept he *relentlessly* argues against, and in the Gospel where it’s a concept Jesus very much repeatedly scorns. So it is technically in there!
